[2015 RWC] Warm Up Match: France vs England (22/08/2015)

I would look at putting Attwood in for Lawes, in the hope that his good form can prevail. We need the grunt, and he's a better lineout operator. Lawes to add impact off the bench. Lawes looked excellent for England earlier this year, but today he looked was very average (like he used to for England). Would still keep him in the 23 for an impact sub.
If it were a year or more out from the RWC I would've looked at Launchbury at 6 and Parling in the donkey row, but not now.
England is doing what England does. Lancaster believes in slow, conservative, tennis match Euro-rugby.
Stopped reading here because you clearly know nothing about rugby.

Good deal, let me know how it turns out in the World Cup. See if the results confirm you or me.

And the eagles will win the whole thing, surely.

Are the Eagles the team you are competing with? You can beat them with slow, lethargic, euro-rugby. It is good to have lofty goals.

If you talk crap like "England play conservative rugby" when in reality they scored 20 tries in 5 games in the 6N, which in essence makes them the most attack minded team in Europe then you better expect to be knocked back like Olyy did . You clearly know nothing about English rugby and are just here to basically agree with everything Jones boy said ....

Just a question but you don't happen to know BigEwis do you ? Unless you are him ???

Also did you get a bit confused tonight when the players weren't wearing pads and helmets and the game didn't stop every 10 seconds . Were you looking for the specialist kicking team ? Haha

20 tries in 5 games? How many in the game against France? Refer back to the original post regarding English rugby style.

It was actually 18 tries in total with 7 in the French game. However even if you remove the French game, that still left us with 11 tries. Only Wales would have had more on 13 and that is including their rout of Italy. Prior to the last game of the 6N, England had more tries than the next 2 teams combined.

You kind of illustrated my point. 2 tries a game, you are the 2nd highest scoring team. And you are comparing to other teams playing the same brand of rugby. There is no doubt that England can compete with other Euro-rugby teams most of the time. I made that explicitly clear in the orignial post as well. England will NOT compete with the speed and precision of the Southern Hemisphere rugby. This has been proven over and over. It is undeniable to anyone who chooses intellectual honesty.

Why take the French game away at the end . Bottom line we scored 18 tries in 5 games against the best teams in the NH . If you have just turned up on this forum to tell everyone that England aren't as good as NZ and SA then you have wasted your time because we already knew that. By the way to win the World Cup (which you will find very few Englishman on here they believe we will win it) you don't have to beat everyone just those in front of you . Who says SA don't get knocked out by the runner up out of England/Wales/Australia and NZ get knocked out by France/Ireland ? Then whoever wins our group has a very nice run to the final ...

Why do England consistently beat Australia?

I think it's because we have a better quarter back and tight end . Also when you have such a good corner defence and linebacker I think that makes a huge difference .

I've decided if he's gonna come troll us I'm gonna troll him till he blocks me :D

Maybe we should do what the Americans do . Invade the country (NZ) and steal their natural resources (young rugby players)

I suspect you may need to work on your reading and comprehension. I did not say take the France game away. I said in the original post that they needed to embrace the approach that was utilized in the final 6 Nations game. I also did not post to state the obvious, that NZ and SA are better. I came here to say what I said: that England will not compete with the Southern Hemisphere playing Euro-slow rugby. Until England opens up the game they will always be right where they are.

Keep trolling Maverick. Also, keep your place of submission to the U.S. or you may have to speak German or Russian one day.

It's so funny seeing all the comments about Ford when me and GN10 have been trying to tell you all along that Ford goes missing playing back foot rugby, Farrell has better game management, may not be better in attack but plays better back foot rugby, if this game has anything to go by, we are going to play a lot of back foot rugby this WC, Farrell is a better option IMO..

It's not anything to go by though.

I'm mad as hell about that game, but not really worried until we're playing like that against Fiji.

If you wanted to make the form team for the Ireland game I think you'd have to go with this....

It's not what Lancaster will do but then after our game plan last night I say sack the coaches.

1.vuinipola - we need his carrying
2. George for the line out
3. Cole - solid and top notch
4. Atwood - lauchbeery is not on form
5. Laws - good around the park
6. Binny
7. Tom wood
8. Morgan

I'd actually drop robshaw, no one has seemed to mention how slow and usless he looked. We need a decent back row and it's hard to make one with robshaw in it.

9. Youngs - he should come good
10. Cipriani form 10
11. Watson enough said
12. Burgess for gain line ball
13. JJ
14 nowell our best winger
15 brown regaining form

I can't be fairer but it will never happen.

I wonder what the papers are saying this morning...
The bottom line is, it's a new day, that was a warm up game where Lancaster was experimenting, and it was an 'away' game as well, never easy.
The All Blacks had one that got away by 8 points in Sydney, it has stood them in good stead.
A loss before a RWC is only going to focus the team.

Be nice to see Cips actually get some time on the field in the shirt numbered 10.
