2015 rwc xv

Completely forgot about those, and how old is Sarel Pretorius now? Completely agree with you, you just can't wait to see how the Springbok team is going to change over the coming years. I just hope we have a coach with some revolutionary ideas.

id say these are very likely, but its all guess work.. obviously..

3-owen franks
4-sam whitelock
5-anthony boric
7-sam cane
8-kieran reid(c)
10-beudan barrett
11-julian savea
15-dagg

still on my wishlist.. a world class halfback

Kerr-Barlow, Paranara and Aaron Smith have a hell of a lot of potential. Probably the best crop we have had since Kelleher/Marshall/Duggan.

What's making me even more excited is the amount of quality of backline players coming through... all of a sudden it looks like there's going to be an enormous battle at the fly-half position... Elton Jantjies, Pat Lambie, Goosen, Catrakilis...

and we shouldn't worry about the forwards, the platteland boys are eating their pap as always... speaking of which, one of my friends works with the Bulls u/19 squad (he's a conditioning coach)... apparently the Bulls signed a guy from Ermelo, he's now 18 years old, weighs in at 118kg's, is 1.95m tall and runs the 100m in 11 seconds flat. He plays 8th man.

oh come on, now you're just making up random words... :p

I know it's a bit silly, but I'd like the Ebersohn brothers to play in the Bok team. It's just... I don't know, hard to explain.

I'll give the backline an attempt...

9. F. Hougaard
10. J.Goosen
11. L.Mvovo
12. J.de Jongh/S.Ebersohn (can he play 12?)
13. R.Ebersohn
14. That Sharks winger setting the world on fire/G.vd Heever/JJ Engelbrecht
15. P.Lambie

Bah! Can't really choose, all I know is we have some exciting young talent on the way!

What about Jantjies, Taute, Sithole? I guess we have some nice talent coming through the ranks... man, that's why I love the Currie Cup more in RWC years

Pretorius and Viljoen could play for another 2 years but it'd be taking a big gamble investing in them for 2015 as the are quite old; 27 and 28 respectively.

Yeah, the CC is great in RWC years as you get to see the youngsters and this year they are really stepping up with a noticable lift in the quality of the backline players IMO. If we can get the right coach and/or assistants we should be able to play a very complete brand of rugby.

A lot of guys won't make the step up or won't get the opportunity to and there are gonna be guys that will only come onto the radar in 2 years or so but at this stage (let me know if I left someone out) and counting the more experienced guys that should be able to go the distance;

In:

- Marcel Coetzee (backrow)
- Kyle Cooper (hooker)

Out:

- Eugene van Staden will be too old
- Anton Bresler might play for Namibia
- Ashley Johnson won't step up since he lacks serious defensive qualities
