[2015 RWC] Pool A: Australia vs. Wales (10/10/2015)

Liam Williams gone now, Gordon D'Arcy's opinion on Welsh injuries

"Everyone is talking about the Welsh boys and how unlucky they are with joint injuries. Now, this is just my opinion having played the game for my entire adolescent and adult life, it is not backed up by science; but I believe your body can only take so much punishment and for a certain amount of time before breaking down. The Welsh, in preparation for this World Cup, and Warren Gatland has said it, pushed their players to breaking point. Well, now they are breaking. Losing 16 per cent of their starting XV can’t be a coincidence. If it is then they are truly cursed."

Totally agree.
I couldn't disagree with this less. You think over training got Rhys Webb in that awkward position over the ball that tore his ACL and ankle apart? You think over training made the Leigh Halfpenny's boots susceptible to slipping and tearing his ACL? You think over training caused Scott Williams to smash his knee in an off the ball piece of contact with Barritt? You think over training cause Tom Wood to kick Liam Williams in the head?

Injuries are part of the parcel mate. It's a contact sport. Sh*t happens. At times it happens more than others. Last world cup we had the same brutal camp beforehand and we no-one in our squad was required to be replaced due to injury.

Get over it, you didn't take your chances. Not one point were you heading over the try line so the ref made the correct decisions and favoured you at times.
Not one point, about six points we headed over the try line. Just didn't get the ball on deck.
Wallabies defense was unreal. Tip my hat to them.

I have to congratulate the Wallabies for such heroic defence. Can't blame the ref for any decisions but North should have scored that try for goodness sake, then maybe we might have snook it. Great game to watch though. My predictions are Wales to crash out in the semi finals against NZ, not because I think NZ are better but because Wales are starting to look tired with all the injuries. Anyway looking forward to beating the Boks! ;-)

You've taken that out of context, I was saying to bring up a penalty try.

To all you English fans your out of the world cup so your opinion is invalid.

As for preventing a try on 3 occasion's Wales could have driven over for a try and every time there was infringements, that IS preventing a possible try because your in the 5 meter "red zone" but of course no one will agree with me because as I have seen while being on this forum a week is all NZ, Aus, Irish and English are arrogant as ****.

I have already stated Wales messed up massively so I'm hardly being one-sided.

It's a hard life.

I have to agree with you Ddanno and how North messed up our try is beyond me!!! In any other game we would have scored 1 or even two tries when up against 13 men. :-/

Agree that North should have gone outside rather than stepped inside where the cover was. But speaking as an ex foward who would never be in this position.

I am no english fan, but I struggle to understand how could anyone's opinion ever be invalid??

Didn't you here him speak, he wasn't sure it was Aus even causing the collapses.
He gave you the benefit of the doubt and the penalty but he isn't going to give you a PT if he's not sure you aren't the team causing the instability.

Dictatorship ;)

I joke I'm merely saying that a penalty try had to have come eventually surely?

Either way its done now, I have no doubt Australia will go far in this world cup and I am holding no hope for Wales vs SA.

Wales never looked like scoring. So why should a penalty try be given?

2015 the arrogant World Cup.

I have never heard the word arrogant used this much before in a word cup.

I think otherwise. Wales stood up to aus at the breakdown (maybe bettered them) and blitzed defended and they didn't know what to do. Think they will slaughter Scotland but will struggle against Ireland or France.

Wales play SA don't they now?

Aus play Scotland.

I think.

Well Australia know they had a hard game against us, the fault of losing is solely with our selves just hope we get it right against SA. I was expecting Oz to attack much more but we had so much possession I'm not surprised they didn't have the chance. This often how the world cup goes but at least we are in the quarters and I maybe mad but we pull of a miracle against SA.

So, can anyone please tell me what's up with Dan Biggar's unusual pre-kick routine ?

Does it get the blood flow going ?
