Please be Nowell and Roko to start on the wings!

My preferred starting line-up (not expecting this to be called):

1. Joe Marler
2. Dylan Hartley
3. Dave Wilson
4. Dave Attwood
5. Courtney Lawes
6. James Haskell
7. Chris Robshaw (c)
8. Billy Vunipola
9. Danny Care
10. George Ford
11. Jack Nowell
12. Kyle Eastmond
13. Johnathon Joseph
14. Semesi Rokoduguni
15. Mike Brown

16. Rob Webber
17. Matt Mullan
18. Kieran Brooke's
19. Graham Kitchener
20. Tom Wood
21. Lee Dickson
22. Owen Farrell
23. Henry Slade

Only one option. Brown on the wing.
11. Brown, 14. Foden, 15. Goode
Call up Ashton or Strettle for the bench.
It's the only way!

To be honest I don't see this as a massive loss. Yarde has been poor-to-average all season. I'd go for Roko and Nowell, with Watson or May on the bench.
I also think that's what Lancaster will do, but with Goode more likely to be in the 23 shirt.

Actually, aren't Roko and Nowell both right wingers? Does it matter all that much which wing they're on? If it does, who do we have that plays left wing?

Made of glass Yarde more like. That's a real pain, although form wise I'd argue Roko and Nowell are both ahead if him right now anyway.

No Morgan? You maverick! Other than that, I'd probably cry if that starting XV was announced.

The team I EXPECT tomorrow is something like this:

Joe Marler
Dylan Hartley
Dave Wilson
Dave Attwood / George Kruis
Courtney Lawes
Tom Wood
Chris Robshaw
Billy Vunnipola;
Danny Care
Owen Farrell
Jack Nowell
Brad Barritt
Jonathan Joseph
Roko
Mike Brown

Rob Webber
Matt Mullan
Kieran Brookes
George Kruis / Graham Kitchiner
Calum Clarke
Ben Youngs
George Ford
Alex Goode

Not that exciting but not that depressing either.

Cry? I hope in happiness?

I chose to leave Morgan out because I feel Haskell can be effective at 8. And I ran out of sub slots to use!

Yeah, I guess it's a toss up where Brad plays. I just feel that Lancaster will go with him at his more familiar 12 slot.

I must add, I don't share your optimism that an improved Barritt will be good for us.

Happiness of course! But also surprise and shock!

1.Mullan 2.Hartley 3.Wilson 4.Attwood 5.Lawes 6.Haskell 7.Robshaw 8.Morgan 9.Care 10.Farrell 11.Watson 12.Eastmond 13.Barritt 14.Roko 15.Brown

I am possibly being a little pessimistic, but I think that this mightn't be the worst window to miss career wise as a winger.

^ Good team.

Unfortunately Haskell is not going to be in the running I don't think due to his illness - it deprived him of gametime at a key point and having lost 5 kg in a week(!) I'm not sure if he'll be considered in the right shape.

Must confess I feel pretty confused by our wingers situation. It sounds like Roko will definitely be given a start but as for the other wing I'm not sure? I doubt it will be Watson so, isn't he only in there as injury cover?

Marler vs Mullan is a surprisingly tough one, given the form of the latter who really had Wilson on toast a few weeks back.

Vunipola vs Morgan a big call - I suspect Vunipola will get the shirt, and I just hope he can show the All Blacks what he didn't quite manage to show on tour.

Have heard good things about Brookes this season but not watched him - be great if he can deliver

May will go straight onto the left wing.

Mullan is a good scrummager, but the game against Bath was an aberration. There is no way that he'll start ahead of anyone else - particularly given the work he does around the park, which is minimal IMO compared with Corbs, Marler and Mako.

I think Morgan/Vunipola could go either way - Vunipola to tie in defenders and create space out wide, or Morgan to come in as a running option for Kyle. It's a toss up.

Pour quoi?

Playing the three best teams in world rugby with a potentially shaky tight five are the sort of circumstances in which it starts becoming easier to do poorly than to do well as a winger. Particularly with England, where I'd say our tight five are hugely influential on how we play and how well we play, and where numbers 6 to 10 are largely poorly endowed when it comes to the sort of gamebreaking ability that turns sticky situations into good ones.

^ This is the first time, ever, that I've really started to doubt Wade's suitability for international rugby..

@ Rats : Not sure about that; Maybe this won't translate into stats but Mullan's very busy around the field for Wasps. In a similar vein to Marler, he doesn't make line breaking carries but does take it up well, and makes plenty of tackles.
Also, he's given a number of good tight-heads a tough time this season. He's better than Mako and pretty similar to Marler imo...
