[2014 Mid-Year Tests] England

I don't see how you could justify involving Burns with England at any level - not even Saxons.
He has been dreadful.

Scott Wilson is not in the U20's squad in order for him to get a full pre-season, apparently.

I'm not justifying it, i'm saying i think he will go - rightly or wrongly Lancaster has shown some faith in him previously, and the loss of form could very well be down to the current Gloucester Environment and being due to leave etc...

As i said abaove i'd take Slade.

I can understand having doubts about Cips - but that's why you take players on tour, to see whether the doubts are justified and whether they can improve with England coaches.

We have at least one slot going free and I believe Cipriani is the best choice. He is the player than the England management know the least about, so that's a knowledge gap that needs plugging. He bows to no one for talent levels. He is in excellent form and is showing real commitment. If it goes wrong, fine, it goes wrong. But its a worthwhile choice and now is the right time to make it as we don't really have any others.

Hard to disagree with what you're saying mate. I actually like Cip's, and was very pleased when he got his shot last time around... i'm just not sure i see massive progression from then to now.

Experience of any sort is valuable and cips has more experience playing in Australasia than the rest of the squad put together. You can be an old head without having 50 international caps to your name.

And sure quade cooper has missed some tackles but at the same time the reds would not have won their super rugby ***le without him, same goes for Australia's tri nation's ***le few years ago. His brilliance wins games

Looks like Webber is out now then
well that's ****, he was the only real contender to push Youngs out. Though we do have players like Ward, Taylor and LCD- webber was the only one with England experience who the national set up really rated.

Not sure at the moment - looked bad initially but less so after he went off.

From the Daily Excessively Racist...

"Today, as a resurgent Sale shoot for a place in the Premiership play-offs against Leicester, he is on the brink of an international recall.
Stuart Lancaster met with Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond yesterday to discuss the Sharks fly-half and their joint conclusion was that a fine personal season should receive its reward with an England recall this summer."

36 injured his ankle - potentially out of the tour according to the BBC.

To take a positive from the game... Yarde scored a hat-trick.

Annoying, but gives Burrell a run at 12 (potentially)

Or Eastmond (but it'll definitely be Burrell).
Does leave the 23 shirt open. I'd have Eastmond or Daly there, but I imagine it'll be Goode.

I don't think it will be Goode as he was dropped out of the Italy squad and he also took Eastmond as the 24th person. I think you could always put 22.Daly 23.Eastmond as If there was an injury to our 10 I think that Eastmond could step in at 10, probably not against New Zealand.

Isn't there a chance Lancaster will go back to Barritt-Tuilagi?

I would judge that unlikely. His approach is exasperating, but he's not a fool, and is well aware that he needs players who score points. He won't pick someone who can't defend, but once that's sorted, he'll pick the guys who'll do more in attack, and I believe that's close to a verbatim quote.

Slightly sad as it is in some ways, I believe that Barritt has played his last senior England game barring a serious injury crisis. Of course, in most ways, its a cause for celebration.

Telegraph seems to think Sinckler isn't going to tour... but PDJ is.

Fair point.
I do think that Sarries doing so well this season will raise Barritt and Goode's stocks though.

What?
Just.....WHAT?!

Well Danny Cipriani was a defensive rock today wasn't he?

Bad News about 36, but hope we'll see Eastmond given a run now, Burrell for me is a 13.

Dunno, didn't see the game but considering your vendetta against him I'll not take your word for it and see when I watch it on Monday.
