But there's no arguing with Vunipola's meters made and defenders beaten, that he's the hardest carrier that the English have at their disposal. Every time I see his stats, they put Morgan's to shame (in the carry). Morgan carries well, but Vunipola does it on another level. Even with Vunipola off form, you lose a bit of carrying power in picking Morgan ahead of him. The advantage to Morgan is that, as far as I can tell, he has Vunipola beaten on every area other than carrying. Better in the ruck, better defensively, higher work rate, faster, better hands etc. Depends on what you want out of an 8 I suppose.
I had another thought on Twelvetrees. What if Lancaster has half a mind on who will best complement Tuilagi when he gets back? I would be very surprised if Tuilagi doesn't start in the WC. As has been said on here before, I'm not sure who would lead defence in a Eastmond-Tuilagi defence, but Twelvetrees would do it well enough. Lancaster does seem to want Twelvetrees to come good. Even the slightest show of form has been rewarded, an indication that Lancaster holds Twelvetrees in high esteem. I honestly have no idea which way this will go. Twelvetrees could be the solution to the back line worries, or he could make it even worse.
