Well I have this deflated feeling that this game hasn't settled any issues. The red card and the two yellow cards put paid to that.

Perspective....there is no doubt that Poite got the BDP first yellow wrong but the AB's were well on top by then and it was only in the latter stages of this game that the SA team came back into it.

They were beaten in the set piece, they had relatively poor line out ball, the breakdowns were fierce but about equal but the Ab's were everywhere and played together as a team using the ball to a far better extent and more clinically than the springboks.

It will be a different game in SA and they may well dominate it but the AB's deserved this win with or without the one big mistake by Poite!!

If Nonu could cut out the silliness you wonder why the NZRFU would want to let him go to Clermont next season?

Nah. Just look at his secondary signal. He's signalling that the tight head prop is pulling back on the engage, which is what you do when you are trying to "whip wheel" your opponents.

I think you're attributing too much to the words he used, its just his French way of saying it.

When you're winning by 15+ with less then 10 minutes to play there's nothing 'class' about a nasty, off-ball hit. And there was a lot to lose because it put SA in the running for at least a bonus point. Things could have turned out very poorly for the ABs had SA capitalized a bit more on that penalty.

We need more backline players like Willie Le Roux, this running head first into opposition backline will never work against the All Blacks. Need to lose Pienaar (thank goodness we have FdP for Aus and NZ at home). I think our forward pack is relatively OK. Duane is a beast and Bismarck is invaluable.

Steyn is also not as effective against NZ as he is against AUS/Argentina/NH. But he is the best we have 'till Goosen gets back to prime form and health (and age). Jan Serfontein is an excellent player, but that style is ineffective against the 'Blacks.

We are definitely the second best team in the world, we just need to figure out a way to beat the All Blacks! Our gameplay simply doesn't work vs them.
