[2013 EOYT] England

Oh ***** you Lancaster, Farrell, Catt and whoever else.
Makes it f*cking difficult to support England sometimes. Does he actually watch the f**king premiership, or just read/listen to Stuart Barnes sucking himself off over certain players?
No other country in the world selects on reputation over form as much as England does.

Want to know who has missed more tackles than Cipriani? Farrell, who has the worst missed tackle stats of any 10 in the league, according to BT Sport the other day. Cipriani sets up tries that Farrell could only dream about, runs better lines and actually brings his backs into the game. Makes his tackles, gets stuck in at rucks when he has to, and gets his job done. But no, he's just a falling-off-tackles-crabbing-across-the-pitch-doesn't-have-a-dad-in-the-coaching-set-up-plays-for-the-wrong-club Northern prick according to the RFU.

Just seen will Greenwood on twitter saying alex goode is the best player in england?!?!?! And questioning whether he should start over brown? !?!??!

Am I going mad or is everything just mental this morning?

Haha, welcome to the club. It's why I'm club over country... I'd like to be a country guy, but it's just too difficult without my blood boiling at any given moment in the year. Mind you, with Gloucester's recent demise, I'm stuck in limbo until one of them sorts their sh**. :p

Even if Cipriani's defence was a worry, they stuck by Ashton through two years of falling off tackles. Why are there different expected standards for different players?

To Goode's credit, he does have a number of skills. He's got pretty impressive feet, a decent boot and can read the defensive game fairly well (he knows where to fill in and when). Decent enough fullback in his 3/4 of the field for a team that doesn't do too much counterattacking and has a tight defensive structure. He's got a few too many limitations for England though imo. Best player in England? What the hell is Greenwood smoking?

Nope. I don't understand it myself.

The only thing I can think of is that Goode's treacle dance makes it appear as if time has slowed down - thus giving the impression of "time on the ball".
For someone apparently so good, the stat of 1 defender beaten per game on average is rather baffling?
Or could it be that for all his awkward limb flailing he isn't actually all that good?

This is definitely post of the year .

It ****** me off too !!

And the fact Seymour hasn't been picked aswell makes me mad :p

Seriously though cipriani would be in everybody else's team but no not England !!

If the welsh beat us again this year (I live in wales btw) I'm going on ancestry.com to find out if I have any kiwi/SA ancestors !!

Given Sarries form its going to be hard for any coach to ignore those players but it does remind me of when Wasps were in their hayday and players like Tom Voyce and Mark Van Gisburge ended up playing for England when better players were available.

Don't forget that sarries best player of the season has been Jacques burger

Has the announcement been moved? I remember reading it was the 9th of January, but that article says it's the 17th.

Also, Benjamin and Watson have just scored two good tries. So that's them not in the EPS...

... And I though I had a bad reaction to that article. My only hope is that this comes off an unreliable source (not sure how great the telegraph is).

Cipriani has done his time and he really does deserve some recognition. The fact that the article said he hasn't even been considered for the Saxons is an absolute joke though- I will officially announce my 0% English heritage in preparation for a dire 6N if that's the case.

Still, Watson will probably be included, and even if Goode's in the squad there's no way in hell he's playing Brown out of the shirt. Just pray Watson shows him up at the training camp?
