With all the injuries to Oz the Lions have no excuses now - they have to win this series. They have one of the best squads they've had in the last 20 years, with class players in every position, and have exceptionally better depth than the Australians.

I'm a big fan of ozzie rugby and I think a whitewash could seriously damage their efforts in regard to handing-off the imposition of NRL/AFL.

Rugby has a tough battle here in Melbourne which is even worse since about 2004 when the wallabies went down hill. Before that, pubs were packed with gold during matches. A late 90s bledisloe almost filled the MCG. Compare that to today, pubs are packed full of kiwis yelling "sheshem bro" and you struggle to fill half of etihad for a test. If the wallabies are successful it attracts band wagoners rather than true die hard fans but nonetheless they are still following the game. No doubt wallaby success = bums on seats = gate profits. If the lions destroy us and we don't claim the bledisloe back this year, deans has to go. If he can't do it now he never will, and we sure as hell need more bums on seats at games especially here in an AFL mad city.

Let us have the 100 points that the last Lions socred against this lot, especially as they are "dissing" the Lions choosing their second XV!!

I can understand why they are doing this with the match v Waratahs this weekend but we shall have to last laugh on the main problem which is Deans who has refused to let his squad be involved in any game against the Lions other than the Tests.......stupid move and one that will back fire on the .................wee chappie!!

Well...yes I do admire the way they punch way above their weight but the ELVs are still very strong in my memory, the fact O'Neill tried pushing these changes though for no other reason than he wanted to appeal to League fans in Oz despite the game growing every where else really pi%4ed me off and if the game falters in Oz its muppets like him who are to blame.

I don't know if its because I live over the border in mid Wales but after the last 2 games I just want England to leave the lions and it to be a Celtic lions instead . I've got a bit fed up of the one eyed Celtic view on everything and wonder why we do it ?!?

Would ruin the lions completely. Imagine the amount in sponsorship that would be lost for starters, let alone from a playing perspective.

Yeah know how you feel, it feels sometimes like the object is not for the Lions to win but to get as few Englishman in the test side as possible......

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the people who go on about '03 the most are the Irish and Welsh - it's incredibly rare you actually see English people mention it.
