2013 British and Irish Lions

I think given the chance Best could play his way into starting like Croft last time round, happy for him his form was so good until the Scotland game where the line-out fell apart.

A big thing for Best and other hookers are the likes of POC are world class targets at lineout and excellent callers so the hookers in a way have a lighter advantage as in their targets are excellent jumpers and calls should allow them that split second extra

I don't think Best's problem is not having the jumpers to hit, it's that he can't throw the thing straight when rattled.
A poor jumped directly in front of him doesn't cause him to throw it 5m left/right.

Can't imagine Best starting, but think he could/will bench ahead of Youngs.

No but it's the huge added pressure from it that doesn't help.

With the Lions Best could have Gray, PO'C and Croft as his main targets in contrast to with Ireland where he had Ryan. Ryan who constantly called it on himself making it obvious allowing the opposition to have a pod right there every time. He can throw excellently as he's shown he did it all last season and has done it when the lineouts been smart. Like the France match and yesterday.

Add in better calling. If Best starts the tour well his confidence with darts will rise

I hope Best can sort out his throwing, because it's been frankly **** of recent. He seems to have lost confidence in his throw which is a shame because he's the best hooker in the British Isles around the pitch.

Rory Best called up and links with the squad tomorrow.

Peter O'Mahoney now captains Ireland in North America. I suspect Sean Cronin will be called up to that squad with Damien Varley or Jason Harris Wright going to Georgia.

Snoop have heard Sean Henry may be going to Georgia but that could be **** take too.
Just question it says Hartley may appeal and may tour if appeal successful. (I know it unlikely he will get off). My question is if he did does that mean Best sent back home or the 4 hookers for tour

From what I gained from reading the Irish times report it looks like Hartley has been cut from the squad because he's not guarenteed, and they have to call Best up regardless of Hartley's appeal.
"With uncertainty over the availability of Dylan Hartley to tour, and with the first of 10 matches only days away we had no option but to call up the additional player,"

I don't disagree with Hartley getting cited he was plain and simple being a plank . Did he say it Barnes or someone else ? I don't think it matters his inability to shut his mouth got him on his last warning the only thing I have a bit of a bug to bear about is that cian Healy can get 3 weeks for purposely trying to injure a fellow player and Hartley gets nearly 4 times that for calling a ref a cheat ?!? Before I get raped by Irish fans im not saying its just Healy he's just the most recent person to do something quite bad like that

Thought bests throwing was really strong at the weekend and he had the pressure of a final on him and had to contest against an on form giant. I thought he completely outplayed Strauss (put him on his arse aswell) and looked real lions quality

I don't think so.
I, personally, would have Lydiate over Croft, but I expect to see that 6,7,8,9,10 and bench for the first test.

Edit: After watching the video I can see what you mean - them claiming Sexton only offers a threat through kicking, for example.

I meant in what he was writing and saying. Philips loves a good snipe it's his service that's slow, Sexton isn't a kicking 10 and Farrall isn't Mr. Consistent. Some other stuff as well that didn't sit right.

The stuff about Sexton being only a kicker is odd! Also not convinced on the Heaslip vs Faletau stuff, since Heaslip only got on the tour due to his great club form, despite a poor 6 Nations. Also 26 caps, including 2 championship winning seasons and a World Cup isn't exactly 'inexperienced' as it seems he's making out! Of course Heaslip has more experience, just seems odd the way he phrased it.

8. Parling looks like the teacher on a school bus.

9. Parling is having a deep existential crisis.

10. Parling don't give no **** about aisle space.

11. O'Driscoll has taken someone's leg. Healy is asking for it back.

12. There's a spy in our midst. (Pic 7)

BTW, it's cruel to make two front rowers sit next to each other (Cole and Best) - think of the leg room.
