Whilst I totally understand the views on both sides here, it's difficult to have complete confidence in HB, given what we've been shown. As more and more information is coming out, the game it looks like we're getting is seeming to get more and more hollow. Licenses as an example - this is the official world cup game yet some stadia are unlicensed. We now know that there will be no leagues or league teams, only the 20 international teams in the cup. There still isn't confirmation about team licensing and the only screenshots we've seen really don't match up to current gen, HD visuals. That's the fact and no matter how many senior members try to patronise those who criticise the graphics, at the end of the day there is a certain standard expected from video games nowadays and so far, this product simply does not match up to it.
The issue is, when HB asked us what we wanted from the game the resounding message was challenging, true to life gameplay. Obviously, visuals may suffer as a result of this but surely the right thing to do would be to reveal some details of the game and actually tell us why we should actually buy it. As a member of this forum, as new as I may be, I do feel some sense of loyalty to HB studios but after all of this hard work which has supposedly gone in, if we do simply get a rebranded copy of 08 then it'll be a bit of a betrayal to have been strung along. Like I said earlier in this thread though, it's impossible to judge until we see some actual gameplay. Surely HB are reading these posts and to see such contention must give them the message that they need to be showing us something special. If the special thing about RWC 2011 is the gameplay, tell us why.
