Yet Another Exclusive - E3 Screenshots -RWC 2011

Looks to me to be good graphics and not much more of an improvement from Rugby 08. same aimless, unidirectional positioning of players.

That's what they have you believe. There's no GUI and what playable camera angles are that?

Mario, the guy charge, confirmed that they are real time graphics just from different angles. A good way to describe it is you know how the have instant replay well that doesn't upgrade graphics just gives you new angels. So they could very well have taken these form a instant relay type thing.

Thanks everyone for these comments, These Screenshots are just the beginning of information from HB Studios.... HB and 505 have tried to keep the information close to their chests in order to be able to release bits of information up to the lead up to the game, this is their strategy, I know they haven't posted much recently like SIDHE but that is for good reason, and I am fully aware of Alastair from HB Studios being on the board on a regular basis, reading all the comments which are being put up..

My friend was at E3 expo, lucky git, it's his job to be there, sent me a link to the preview vid which was shown to developers and marketing companies at the show... My worry is that it might be very restrictive in gameplay because it just looks really good :p let's hope it's free flowing rugby genius!

Does this mean a trailer is being released today/tommorow????

the graphics are absolutely appalling for this console generation. just look at the texture tears on the crowd in the foreground on screenshot two.

There was something similar going on in a screenshot with SBW's head in one of the RC shots. Only minor thing which can be fixed. Have you seen the crowd in Fifa?

I'm still not worried about the player graphics. The fact that they don't have numbers on their backs would indicate that they're not the finished article. We'll see how she goes sure.

Well these screens look positive to me, look slightly better than first bunch. Defo agree these are better visuals than RLL, which i still play and the gamplay is below par. Bring on the next few weeks for mre info =D keep up the good work.

My only concern with RC is that obviously the main focus is nz and aus (rightfully so). Sidhe have suggested they hav northern hemisphere licences, but there are gonna b som missing. My point is, is that SBW ,carter and co will look identical to their real life counterparts etc. Whereas for example adam jones will have short blonde mohawk =P i know its extreme, but obviously if so much focus s going into on team, then corners hav to b cut elsewhere. Anyways i look forward to seeing both games develop, im gonna buy them both anyways so i guess it dont matter =P

Looks alright. Keep the info coming HB, a video would be nice ;)

At the end of the day the graphics aren't everything. If there are any other pro-cycling manager fans here, you will know how annoying it is when game developers focus mainly on improving graphics rather than the game engine and the AI just to impress the mainstream crowd.

A quick question ... how come its the same ones moaning all the time?

Why is it always the same ones defending this game? Are you getting paid to do this? I'm not trying to be rude here but I'd prefer it if people could be honest.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, you can't expect to bring something into the public domain, ask people to spend 40 quid on it and worry about what their opinion is.

My major gripe with HB and this game is that they've talked talked talked and not delivered. The game is supposed to be out in two months and we've got 5 shots......all of which aren't really great. The fact that they've taken the second released picture of their facebook page should tell you something.

I like many others will be happy if it plays superbly and looks ok. But they way its being delievered isn't filling me with confidence. There is NO way I'll be buying this game without renting and trying it first. I mean, effectively this is Jonah Lomu rugby with an update, it will be great for 2 maybe 3 hours and will then be pointless.

Either way, people are entitled to their opinion and if the turth can't be handled then its time to shape up or ship out.

Why are so many new posters located in Afghanistan? Is it the first country to pick from on the list or something?

I'm not going to lie, I honestly feel these guys are trying to pull as fast one on us all.... it looks like they've just taken 08, updated it for PS3, with a few new extra's.............................. Not happy with these pics at all!!!

Rugby Challenge is the game for me, Franchise mode, edit player mode and edit team mode, licensed boots, kits, stadiums... MUCH better graphics. I'm sold!
I'm sorry i wasted my time and hopes on this game! let me down big time 'hb studio's' !!!!

I think the key thing is that there is a battle between Fan Boys... on one side we have the SIDHE Fan Boys who think the game is going to best thing since sliced bread, just because of the graphics and licences, on the other side is the HB/505 Fan Boys who want the gameplay aspect, as it has been mentioned on here time and time again, in terms of information, there has been little from HB, but a bit more from SIDHE. Mario has been on this forum defending his game and fair play to him for that, Alastair has been on this forum watching and occasionally interacting with the forum. However these are two very different people with two very different games. I know The Rugby Forum has linked with HB/505, but that doesn't mean we will stop fair and honest opinions because if we did that, we may as well shut the site down tomorrow, we have a duty to our members and HB Studios/505 Games and SIDHE to allow for the discussion to take place.

I think we are lucky to be having 2 Rugby Games in the space of a year, when we have not had anything, if I had a choice I would always pick Gameplay over licences, that's why Pro Evo out sold Fifa for so many years... We can't judge these games on what we have been given so far, all we can do is comment and give our opinion, the proof in the end will be the game which sells the most, has the most people playing it online etc...

Ah the HB fanboy tactic ... how clever <_<

Most people actually appreciate that there are two rugby games coming out.

Im not getting paid and have a fairly open opinion on both of the games, again appreciate that there are two games coming out and looking forward to it.

Its ok to have an opinion but to be constantly negative and actually sign up here to be negative is not really the point on this board. Criticism is criticism and its all fair when relevant but when its the same people sprouting rubbish and not offering constructive criticism is not acceptable.

People have made a lot of claims in their post to which the majority of the so called points cannot be backed up. Until the game comes out you cannot make a call and back it up with no facts.

If people know how tough it is for HB to get screenshots out then they would actually appreciate what they have been shown. If you want to know a little bit about the workings of screenshots, id suggest you have a look at THIS post by me.

It's where the keyboard warriors come from ;)

So far the criticisms that have been brought up here have been fairly justified.

There are issues in those screen shots that relate back to Rugby 08's key failings and we have a right to point out such a issue and ask why it hasn't been looked at despite a 4 year gap between this new game and HB's last rugby game.

Lesson 1: Never look to internet forums, specifically threads about video games, if you don't want a headache.

Images can also sometimes been misleading ... I've seen some people's comments and quite a few are unjustified and wonder how much rugby some have watched or played.
