Who Will Lose Out To Sonny Bill Williams?

Well at least your honest I respect that and your not alone heaps of people hate SBW. Sinn why do you hate him?...Im curious and I feel theirs more to it then mentioned in your quote.

His reasons the same as mine.
SBW walks into NZRU expecting to make the AB's EOYT (with a get-out clause in his contract if he doesn't), and while he hasn't proven he is worth the $550,000 (which is more than NZ can pay to its proven and experienced top players, who have forgone the big money up north to try and make the AB's) yet he talks about how he is taking a pay cut. There doesn't seem to be much commitment and his behavior comes off as arrogant. I know you're a fan, so I'm not trying to bash him, but I'd imagine that is what Feicarsinn feels, and is there any more of a reason to dislike a player.
To be honest, I suppose you can argue fair game to him for trying to get what he wants. If it's anyones fault it's the NZRU for offering him as much as they did, but this whole SBW issue highlights everything I hate about professionalism. It devalues the loyal players for players with big reputations, earned or otherwise.

yeah all those players we've scalped for the NPC.. He's picked on promise not what he's achieved

Oh, I wouldn't say I hate him. I just think it's crazy that he's on that kind of money when you consider what he has done (or not, as it were). I can't see him breaking into the All Black 22 within 12 months on merit in the next 12 months but he'll most likely get his place in the WC squad over the likes of Ranger or Mcallister, which would be damn infuriating.
@Sinn
@Nick
Oh thats right I forgot you told me your reasons before lol. Thanks.

I don't understand why you would hold what a player earns against them. If hes only worth it for the ratings well thats money they wouldn't have otherwise. He's a weapon, a tool to potentially demolish defences perhaps will never be a complete player but I have no doubt Henry will be able to use him

I don't have a problem with how much a player earns. I have a problem with how much the NZRU is paying SBW, without him having earned it, make sence? DC and McCaw have every right to claim that amount of money, they have earned it from performing week in and week out for New Zealand rugby. Once again, it's the NZRU's fault more than anyones, for investing this kind of money on a player who hasn't earned it.

Tindall would never have made a SH test team, wouldn't even make a S14 side... no where near fast enough

I seem to recall him making a mess of some pretty famous Australasian back lines at the start of the millennium which included the likes of Umaga, Carter, Mortlock and Latham. Mmmmm... Crap, wasn't he.

Has a world cup medal too. Not too many of them floating road in New Zealand.

Doesn't make him a good player.
Nick he has earned it by being able to demand that much, I'm as much a critic of the faults capitalism but that is how it works.

I seen Tindall play once against the ABs he seemed pretty quiet but the kiwi commentators did speak highly of him.

Does SBW not have skill or is it about what he has accomplished?

As my friends would say 'HARD', short for hardout he does.

NRL premiership, 2 and 0 Boxing record, Toulon 1st 15, young and rich and Mike Tindalls wife has this picture in her purse...

So he's been successful at Boxing (if you can call it that) and otherwise achieved the exact same amount as Luke Rooney.

**** the bed...

that money should have been spent on getting nicky evans

+1

The All Blacks have lots of good centres, however their lack of depth at 10 is very well documented. Evans is a classy operator and is a level above the likes of Donald and Slade.

Well to be honest, I don't think he would walk into any test sides at the moment on current playing form,however he is eligible to play for Australia, Manu Samoa, and New Zealand, and would probably be selected/tried out for any of those sides on potential alone.

It wouldn't be the first time this has happened in NZ rugby, Brad Thorn was offered the All Black jersey back in 2003 (I think that was the year), on potential ... he turned it down, but he seems to have turned out alright.

Not saying that SBW should be in the first string run on side for the ABs, but given the financial outlay, he should probably be trialled on the end of year NH tour, if his ITM cup form is any good
