Where's the hype?

I do hope so!

I'm sick to the teeth already of the seemingly endless and mindless football copy and discussion that seems to take over in the media.

02 had some corporate do for the England team and even that was taken over by schoolgirls excited to see Take That![/

I have to agree, soccer is so overrated, soccer fans are like sheep often sucked into the game as kids frightened they will be friendless if they don't choose a soccer team to follow.

Nicely put.

Yes, come on Fiji, oh I forgot we can all have a pop at anyone except England otherwise you'll get called a Barrow or trolley or something.

I did some weeks ago and got called a troll by some half backed morons. Has nobody told you its one rule for them and another for everyone else.

That video kinda sums up what's wrong with Welsh rugby. You guys always seem more interested in whether you're gonna beat England than whether you actually have a chance of winning the 6 nations/world cup/whatever.

Can we really call this the Rugby World Cup?

The All Blacks are clearly the best team. There are 39 New Zealand born players who are playing for teams outside New Zealand (even more who are developed by the NZ system) and 7 national head coaches.

Can we just win it by default?

Plenty in your squad that aren't New Zealanders, you've been thieving players from the islands for years, give those players back and what have you got.

Considering France have over twice (almost three times) the number of senior players, and much more money to throw at the players; you can use your fingers and your toes to figure out who's under achieving :D

The players here favour their club career over country so your point about the number of players has no point. It's about priority, not numbers! If those senior players are not picked and/or told by their club where to stick their intl ambitions, it doesn't matter a damn how many we have.
And the money is Not being thrown at the national team. Precisely. This is my point when I say the union and clubs don't care. It's not where the money is going. FFr are building their +600 million euros stadium, everyone can see where the money is going...

My point about, people making excuses about "home refs" is valid, if you want one sided, look at your home tournament, and the stats for penalties etc v possession, in "that match" in 2007 ... my point was that there was other factors in both matches that effected the outcomes of both matches ... maybe you just need to swallow the sour grapes, and own 2011 like we have to with 2007.

You won it with the little help from a friend..with a big help from a friend...friend-end.

Don't Wales have more than 10 English-born players in their squad, including George North and Lydiate (J Davies too but obviously he isn't in the squad)?

Oh, Ok ... I thought having so many players, and so much money poured into the players/clubs, and such a strong club competition, might have some spin offs at the international level ... my bad :D

... must be tough to have all of those disadvantages, and still have to cope at an RWC ... if only you had the advantages of say the PI teams.

I'll have to take your word for the help from a friend comment though ... it seems a little strange that a South African ref would be so biased towards us, considering that a New Zealand ref is widely blamed for putting the Springboks out of the same tournament ... I'd have gone for a Welsh ref myself, because they'd probably feel more aggrieved with France IMO ... but, as you yourself indicated, France didn't deserve to be there anyway, so what's the problem :D

... Full credit to your 2007 team though ... you obviously had no help what so ever from the officiating refs ... the stats and independent reviews obviously give a false indication

The French have been sent to Croydon for their welcome ceremony.

Could be worse Croydons got to be better than getting sent to Corbyn.

You can't even spell write!

I couldn't afford to go to public school like you lot.

the hotel looks good to me and they have a posh boys school to train, good turn out by the locals to welcome the 2015 WC Winners.

Valley, us illiterate state schoolers need to stick together. But damn, you have some dislike for England. I read an article in the Sunday times today bringing up Ali Williams hatred for England, it was really deep rooted. Sounded like a bitter and twisted old man.

You've had 2 Kiwi coaches in your modern history. Not to mention foreign players. If you were left to your own devices you'd be a mess.

I'd like suggest a small edit to your signature = Just blowing thru my arse.

Tell me, the bit about your PM kissing your team goodbye at the airport, is that funny or sad?

Well, thanks for the suggestion ... I'm not sure that I want to blow through your arse (or even how that's achieved) ... is it a local custom of yours? ... anyway, I don't want to be rude, but I think I'll pass on this occasion.

Tell me, the bit about your PM kissing your team goodbye at the airport, is that funny or sad?

Can it be both? ... personally, I found the whole naming of the squad at parliament buildings pretty cringe-worthy

Clutching at straws.

Random guess, Dickson is from an army family who were based in Germany? Hong Kong being a British territory for a while with strong business links still to Britain was probably the reason for sharples being born there.

Everyone knows the mako, billy and manu stories. Getting old now.

Why doesn't everyone just let the nationality crap go? In the IRB eyes they are playing for their nation. Just support your nation and respect others and their decisions.

It's less than a week, I can't wait. What's everyone's World Cup beverage?

Quite happy to let it drop, but when someone brings it up I will retaliate.

Will Carling was born in England

Can we get back to the HYPE anyway, instead of a boring old eligibility thing

I live in NZ and support NZ. I don't think the ABs would be a 'mess' without Fekitoa, Ben Franks and Jerome Kaino.

Most of the players who have chosen to come to NZ haven't just done so in the last 2 or 3 years like they have your part of the world. They usually come through our high school system, rugby academies and have lived their youth here - which is consistent with my views about making you eligible to play for that country. We didn't poach or steal anything or anyone when some of these guys got shifted out of the island by their parents as an infant.

Hmmm... (For the record, England only have 3 foreign born players in their squad. Wales have more than 10 English born players)
