Western Force v British & Irish Lions - 5/6/13

Remember guys, Salesi Ma'afu isn't just some third/fourth-choice tighthead that the Force are simply using to make up the numbers. He's started for the Force in more games than any other tighthead I believe. But they haven't got any realistic chance of doing anything in Super Rugby and he's off to Northampton next season, so they're presumably focusing their efforts on their other tightheads. Might account in part for why the Lions are struggling to drive the scrum.

Took awhile but becoming an Heaslip fan bordering on man crush.

Love the camaraderie in the lions.
Sheehan acting the dick with Murray so Cole walks directly into his face.
Then Sheehan tries to pick a fight with a prop
I hope someone ruins Sheehan in this game (with a legal challenge, obviously!)

I would agree with that entierely but he is not international class at the moment and Healy certainly is......

Their no 9 is like most every other scrum half in rugby....fiesty and thick!!

Don't like how Murray runs 5 yards before passing - it doesn't do anything other than allow the defence time to drift across, close in, and smash the receiver.

Great run by North and a meat pie for Mako!

Don't want to take anything away from the man but just remember Halfpenny is under no pressure in this game! Good stuff by Vunipola though.

Haven't heard Bowe's name mentioned much... Will need to get involved a bit more with North playing well and Cuthbert and Maitland looking promising against the Baabaas.

He certainly has had nothing to do in the game itself by way of pressure apart from that "error" in the first half so would have to see him under more pressure in that area to be sure he should hold onto the 15 for the tests against Hogg anyway as Kearney is going to be hard pressed with a delayed start......I do think that kicking brings its own pressure that is relieved when you are successful and stay successful......pressure increases where you are not!!

Ouchies. I was afraid of a lopsided score. And the Force having one in the bin isn't going to make the next few minutes any better. Ouch, ouch, OUCH!

das

Regardless of pressure (remember there was no pressure on Sexton against the Barbarians either) Halfpenny's kicking is ridiculously good thus far. This should develop some self confidence which will hopefully mean that if the Lions test comes down to a conversion or penalty from the touchline Halfpenny can nail it.
