Warm Up Match 5: Maori All Blacks v British & Irish Lions (Rotorua)

How can they take that quickly when there was several lions players there forming the lineout?

New Zealanders don't have to follow regular rules.

Showing your ignorance again Tigs Man?

They were allowed to take it quickly because it doesn't matter how many players of one team are at the line of touch, there have to be at least two players from EACH team present at the line of touch. - Law 19.8

Half like that was expected tbh. Good pressure is neutralising this stacked backline in the Maoris. Its whether they can figure it out and shoot through that quick advancing line.

I bet Howley is delighted at another tryless half. Why let the beautiful penalty based game be ruined by tries? 3 is a magic number.

Good that it happened now though. Imagine if that was in the last few minutes of a test and allowed NZ to snatch victory. They'll all learn from that.

Yeah absolutely. Murray is having a tough day at the office. I'd hope in the test, the captain would clarify with the ref also. Wasn't any need to rush there.

Showing your lack of "banter" again I see.

Great half from Itoje, Sexton and, yes, JD on individual levels. Am I missing anyone?

On a team level, a lot of issues. Still no coherent plan to score tries, poor rucking in attack is killing any momentum, too many little errors and inaccuracies, aimless kicking. Defence has been very good again though.

It has that England under Lancaster feel loads of chances none bloody taken.

Watson has only done good things, not had much opportunities though.

Well they built their national side around "Give it to Shane" and "Get the tee on for Leigh", Shane Williams hasn't been called up (yet) so that's all they've got in the playbook unfortunately

My prediction for the next half - Lions to continue playing a tight game, dominating territory and possession, winning on penalties, maybe MAYBE 1 try, forever keeping 1-5pts ahead, MABs to score a typical NZ out of nowhere try and win the game by a max of 5pts.

"The warm-ups aren't important. At least we created a load of chances"

Don't forget the classic Roberts there is a brick wall just keep running at it move.

Lions fans should be happy with that half time result.
The Maori still looking to get some clean possession.
