Warm Up Match 3: Crusaders v British & Irish Lions (Christchurch)

well that'll learn him. still a bit harsh dropping him from the ABs

I actually think Barrett and Romano have both out performed this season too and their attitudes and work rate are streets ahead of Patricks.

Too many things working against him at the moment, he should do some reflecting in this period and come back stronger with some proper commitment to his career and team.

But I agree, he's a very talented player and has more talent than Barrett and Romano. Just needs to apply himself better and not let himself or the teams down.

How are AWJ and Hogg starting in the Saturday team?

Also will we have a haka before every game now?

Just thought I'd add that the Highlanders are actually doing a Scottish theme, because of the towns heritage. 'Dunedin', some what of an anagram of Edinburgh and many Scottish settlers. Also it's a bit of a nod towards the 3 Scots in the side lol.

Can one of the Celtic members tell me how to pronounce Tadgh Furlong's first name? Is it 'tad-ug' or 'taj' or 'torg'?

i'm glad its getting demystified. its not mumbo jumbo its a welcome.
so what if its overused? as long as they do their own haka, personalised to the team then its fine. shouldnt be using kamate or pango o kapo as those really are the ABs haka's. i'd like to see some new choreography.
haka isnt about scaring the bejezzus outta the oppn, its a welcome with honour and acknowledgement to the oppn and a thank you for coming to compete. its the equivalent of boxers touching gloves before battle.
its an unsaid saying that even though we're gonna smash each other, we do it with respect and thank you for coming to play.
haka's are about welcoming, inclusion and embracing.
the whole anti haka thing is just par for this time year
.

When people say the Haka is a welcome

I got this, here hold my beer.

Conor O-Cal-ah-han?
That is indeed the anglicized version (Conor O'Callaghan) to a T, but it's a little bit more shitty in Irish. Surname is pretty much right. By the way this is not my actual name, please no one send some unsuspecting Conchobar pictures of your shriveled member.

Pog mo thoins!

I'm not Celtic, but I do have a mate called Tadgh and I believe it's "Tige", like "Tiger" but without the 'r'.

Until recently I assumed it was similar to Ruaridh and Sean (i.e. a traditional spelling of a now common name), so I thought it was pronounced Todd.

Whoops.
