Warm Up Match 3: Crusaders v British & Irish Lions (Christchurch)

Why? I'm just stating a fact, am I not? ;)
They're your subjective views. I just raised a contradiction on your part. Feel free to review below and hopefully this will answer your questions above as you may not have understood the first time.
...I found these comments to be rather upsetting because they completely lack class and respect. Which is why I'm here, it's refreshing to read something else other than insults
Here your contradict yourself...
Oh, wait, your words are pointless. Which is why I call you a troll.
I haven't resorted to insults such as calling one a troll or shown a complete lack of class and respect. I'm just simply stating the facts ;)

"The law says there must be a small gap, but they don't play to the laws of the game, so Super Rugby sides tend to scrummage illegally - if that's the case," Gatland said.

have to agree with gatland here. noticed it this season where the super scrums dont have a gap and are pretty much engaged as soon as they bind. however this isnt why the saders got pinged so much. moody wasnt square enough.

i have to say that gatland is doing a great job. he's turning these lions into real contenders.

I haven't been too impressed with the NZs fans so far. The constant booing in the Crusaders match, the complete cockiness of some after the Blues loss and now some pretty poor comments about the ref.
not all kiwi's are like this. u need to take it as a grain of salt. i'm sure we're not the only ones that whine when there is a loss.
some kiwi fans are really enjoying the way gatland is developing his players and managing this tour.
i for one am impressed with how the lions have played the baabaas, lost to the blues then using all their lessons have gone on to beat the top super side.
nobody thought to ask what would happen if the lions survive their baptism by fire and actually learn and get better. this is turning out to be a much more exciting tour than what was first thought.
ABs need a good shake up. a loss for the ABs wouldnt go astray either

I won't try to justify myself on this one. You are right. However I know a troll when I see one, for having met so many of them over the internet. Deny me or not, but a lot of your first interventions were pointless (in all objectivity), and rather silly to be honest, which is why I thought you were a troll. Apologies if you never meant to be one.

To be fair dude, you've been a bit of an exception on here with your positivity about the lions. I'm now starting to see that many people wanted them to come down under and play a 15-man game, maybe even 'chaos rugby'. We're never going to be able to do that as well as New Zealand and under tour constraints its just not really feasible.

Glad that you think the tour is shaping up well, I agree. I hope the general New Zealand rugby public isn't too disillusioned by it all, I really think if you're a fan of rugby you enjoy low scoring as well as high scoring games as long as the atmosphere and sense of tension is there.

i apologise for the conceitedness of some NZ fans, but like me there are a lot of the silent majority that are fully supportive of this tour.
all the guys that i hang out with and talk rugby with offline are loving how this tour is shaping up and we're often wasting hours over beers talking about the pros and cons of the lions.
we may have just handed the world the way to beat the ABs. give them a crash course in rugby by playing all the super sides + the maori's. this could be how we harden up the ABs in a WC year.

Perhaps it's just the more casual fans that have been brought out the woodwork because it's been the Lions but I haven't been too impressed with the NZs fans so far. The constant booing in the Crusaders match, the complete cockiness of some after the Blues loss (not jokey comments) and now some pretty poor comments about the ref.

My family and I have watched the ABs play all over the world. Nowhere have we been personally subjected to abuse, thrown food and drink, like we have at Twickenhsm - for nothing more than wearing NZ and AB-branded clothing.

And I agree that generally behaviour at matches in NZ can be rowdy and that there are a lot of alcohol-addled young men who seem to revel in being the loudest, most uncouth specimens they can be.

There's assholes everywhere - you may only see the ones that support the opposition.

I concur - every one of my friends, while decrying the result of the Crusaders game, agreed that Gatland is building, and building well. Sure, I would like to see more running, less kicking and more tries, but some of the best rugby I've seen had low scores with only a few points in it (that Calcutta Cup mud bath in the early 2000s, comes to mind)

I think if you're the kind of person that gets upset at what other people think, you aren't going to enjoy the crap the press is serving up - just enjoy the game.

that Gatland is building, and building well.
hmmm maybe the minimum we're going to get out of this tour is a new allBlack coach? gatland is managing these guys perfectly. imagine what he could with an ABs pack?

I mean... People talk about NZ fans and how they are during the moment, and like most, if not all, we are pretty bad in the moment. We are competitive, this is our national sport. But honestly, who isn't? Did the Crusaders deserve to win? No. Did the ref "miss" a lot of things. Yes, in my opinion. Yes. Offsides, that penalty kick, knock-ons, a yellow card. So yeah.. The TMO, and his touchy kept his performance at "sub-par" imo. They were definitely helping him through the match. Which yes, is their job. But you cant just give him a "pass" for some things.

Did the Lions look a hell of a lot better? Yes.
Are they going in the right direction? Yes.
Are they dangerous to the All Blacks? Yes.
Are NZ casual, part-time rugby supporters delusional because its just a national pride thing, like the English and football? Yes.

Its easy to confuse the two. Like the media, with the real rugby fans.
