Warm Up Match 1: New Zealand Barbarians v British & Irish Lions (Whangarei)

Because it's the Lions against a local Barbarians side, most of them are literally amateur
We're talking about kiwis there, they're still tougher than any other opposition on earth. I agree with you that the Lions have to shake off that bit of rust, but they're jet-lagged and didn't get enough time to get used to the time shift

Furlong in for Sexton. Need some attacking flair. Laidlaw to be thrown into the nearest volcano as a sacrifice to the gods and a swift departure from Christianity and static rugby. Good pay off.

I would support a Sinckler Furlong half back pairing.

First test of the coaching teams tactical replacements I feel.

Nerves/rustiness/travelling only three days ago I'm sure all has an impact so far, but it's clear changes need to be made at HT.

Didnt watch the 1st half, but us it any surprise the backs aren't working? One playmaker who isn't getting good ball with two centres who aren't exactly known for their distribution so the playmaker at 15 is rendered useless. I reckon it was like watching Leinster's 2015/16 season.

anyone even noticed Marler outside the scrum as well? The comparison between him and Sinckler in the loose is massive and Sinckler's the tighthead!

Imo they missed a trick not selecting Rob Evans ahead of Marler. Injured his hand now, so it doesn't matter, but was a poor call imo.

The Lions have been super disappointing so far.

Great desire from the BaaBaa's, they're making a lot of handling errors but are still leading..
Lol @Ground We Won are you seriously thinking Laidlaw hasn't been anything other than ****?

He hasn't been great, saying it once is fine but your continued vitriol directed at the Scots was boring to read.

Alpha with a beautiful spin onto it being England players fault 10/10.
More Laidlaw really, Te'o at 12 just wont work either. If Sexton is fit he does the best with what he gets, asking a 10 to do well with Laidlaw at 9 is the sort of thing that gets Dan Bigger on Lions tours.

I don't see what Joseph has really done wrong Full? He's been fed some real ****.

agreed. Ball's been put behind him on numerous occasions. Timing doesn't look right between him and Sexton. Difficult to know who's fault that is. Maybe JJ overrunning things on occasion.

Nah Sexton has been muck. Outplayed by a kid and makes only poor decisions

Alpha the backs bring poor has nothing to do with the centres and everything to do with the terrible distribution of the half backs. Both have been terrrrrrrible.

Laidlaw kicked ball away during a good period of phases and play.

Both halfbacks are killing me.
