Heavens!

Ych a fi myn, thanks for sharing that
Not overly bothered that Deiniol Jones is in, the guy is a hard grafter and never really lets the Blues down. Cant wait for the match though, would love to ruin the French Grandslam hopes like they did to us last year!

Jokin' I am, boys!
I'd love us to do em too, I got so depressed after losing to France last year, closeting myself away in my room with a crate of Fosters :p

Ha  Am watching Gavin and Stacey now
And losing in France last year capped off a very crappy week for me (girlfriends and such  ) and I ended up getting very very drunk :p Great times.

Why does Gatland have to come out and state France aren't as good as people say adding fuel to a bad enough fire for the Welsh as it is.
If he learnt to keep his mouth shut and stop pi**ing teams off it'd be a good start.

The first thirty minutes against France last year is the last time I can remember us being remotely competitive. I would love to see a reversal in fortunes this time around.

Time you came out, don't you think?

HURRRRRR

Lineout is the obvious thing against France. Is Gatland thinking of that with the new second row and SH?

Apart from that, Wales need to upset Bastareaud by dancing pixie rings around his feet. Good luck.

p.s. How does tampax help with a ****? If you bump into one you have to find another entry point, but ...

Oh har har.
Regarding the first part, I concur. From roughly 30 mins in last year's game we haven't played any good rugby, or rugby I would deem sufficient for a team pushing to be 'top 3 in the world'.

Gatland out.

Hope Roberts and Bastareaud clash as the effect will be similar to 2 trains

But I know everything point to a french victory but damn I hate this feeling of knowing Wales will pull it out of bag somehow.

I seem to remember Bastareaud hammered Roberts last year... Roberts can only play well when partnered with a world class centre.

Yeh, Bastareaud got a big hit on Roberts last year (just finished watching the match again), was a big, big collision. Roberts was handed a bit of a hospital pass though which was slightly behind him and ended up with man and ball. Recycled the ball fine though, and got straight back up, but it'll be nice to see him get one back on Friday.

The centre battle should be epic. If Hook can get some space, I'm expecting him to take on Bastareaud, really test how he copes. In defense I'm sure Roberts will have been told to man mark Bastareaud, leaving Hook to take care of Jauzion. I know Hook missed that tackle against Scotland, but it's the first glaring tackle he's missed for a long time, so I expect his tackling to be fine on Friday.

However it's up front that this game will be won or lost, as always. I'm much happier about this starting lineup than those against England and Scotland, becuase our backrow is finally balanced. Powell's suspension is a real bonus I feel, and we should start to see a little more from Martyn and Ryan this game with Jon Thomas there to take some of the dirty work off their hands. We'll wait and see how the second row goes, but if they can stabalize the lineout then I'll be happy. Front row will be solid, if unspectacular.

Byrne to have a blinder with everyone concentrating on the centre battle........

Pape injured, Pierre to start and Chabal on the bench. Man, this is gonna be a B team if it keeps going on like this...

Injured starters so far: Barcella, Millo-Chluski, Chabal, Ouedraogo, Ducalcon, Marconnet, Papé, Mermoz, Traille, Elissalde, Rougerie, Clerc, Fall and Papé.

All he's going to do is get Bastareaud angry...and they won't like him when he's angry

But seriously, why? What's he going to gain by saying Bast is too unfit to play running rugby =/

The welsh will win tonight for the fallowing reasons:

1. After a big win over Ireland the french will be overconfident and will try to play "rugby champagne" the problem for them is that the Welsh will do the same as it is their only weapon -> plenty of space for the Welsh backline.

2. The french "vietcong" fly half is very limited and could be at the mercy of Martin Williams -> good field position for the welsh.

3. Bastardeau and Jauzion are two stupid concrete mixers whereas Roberts is a intelligent concrete mixer and Hook can find space.-> Roberts will created momentum and Hook will create the space for the backline.

But the french can target a shaky welsh lineout without Wyn Jones. The welsh pack is solid and will front up against the "the fromage qi pu"

So the welsh will win by taking France on at their own game.

France are not unbeatable.

The French will win because the are better at their own game. Roberts doesn't do the job without a great player outside him, the French defence is immense, the French will muller them in the contact and Trinh Duc is far from limited. The French pack also contains some of the best forwards in the world at the moment.

It's good to see your basing your prediction on stereotypes about the French as opposed to the team itself.

France to win by 3point or more -> Evens. â'¬50 worth a gamble.

Paddy Power please pay me :D
