Anyway, I'm getting rather excited for the England Italy game. Watching Pirlo while Veratti is also a little gem of a player. It's hard to know how the game will go until we see the England team (eg. is there space for Barkley?) but you have to fancy the Italians.

0-0 draw is my guess.
It's been hyped so much that it's bound to be an absolute bore.

Yeah, maybe.

1-1 now. This goal makes things very interesting.

Got a few friends on facebook tearing their hair out over their accumlators/this game

I've made three bets so far this tournament. One made accumulator that went out the window on the second day (bloody Australians are literally good for nothing), a draw between Holland and Spain and one on the England Italy game (2-0 Italy if you're interested.) Probably good news for Italy, that.

Could you imagine if Rugby teams only announced the teams half an hour before kickoff?

I'd be ****ing bald by now.

Can we stick to English on the thread? Thanks lads.
Think we used to have a Spanish language thread in general, if you are interested.

There's an international section to the forum, but it's always been something of a tough one to work with, due to the difficulties in moderating it.

I have England in a pool and am 100% behind the boys. #footballscominghome.

It's quite amusing typing "**** sake" into twitter 30 seconds after Italy score, the amount of tweets that come up so quickly is ridiculous.

If Sterling was Brasilian, Barca and Real would be offering 50 mil for him.

Yeah, because Real Madrid have never paid an insane amount of money for a British player, right?

Yeah, they always fail when they sign someone that scores the winning goal in the champions league final and copa del rey, along with 20+ goals and assists in a season.

So what was the point of your original post? You seemed to be implying that Real and Barcelona have something against signing British players, but Bale, Beckham, Owen and McManaman would all beg to differ.

I'm saying that the way Sterling is playing, he'd be regarded as a world beater if he was playing for Brasil and not England, and the financial fair play immune spanish giants would offer insane money for him.
You, however, appear to be deliberately trying to cause an argument.

No, I just don't think that's a sensible point. Why would playing for England affect how people view him? There are top, top players who play for nations who are much worse than England (Bale, Dzeko, Ibrahimovic, etc.)

Sterling is having a fine game. I don't think that makes him a world beater just yet. That's a rather premature judgement, even with the season he's had. Does that mean that someone will come in with a large offer for him? Not necessarily. Madrid are stacked out wide with Bale, Di Maria and co. and he wouldn't really fit Barca's style of play. Not a chance of Liverpool accepting a bid from another English side.
