TRF EA Rugby '06 NZ Tournament

yeah i am hopefully gonna check out dannys place on thurs. i am tryin 2 get off call especially after last night. 5am crap his place is in upper hutt so it could a bit far from town who knows. And my lounge is going to be missing a table and all my dvds so there will be a little bit more room. 2 projectors is going to be a bit of a squeeze but i think it will be ok. but if dannys place is the better venue ill let you guys know.

anyway danny has some pretty good rush defence i tried to counter it but it was a bit hard. there were alot of early tackles at one stage but that slowed down. there were alot of big hits and charge downs that i couldnt do but i dont think i played to bad considering i had only played 2 or 3 times on an xbox.

i really enjoyed playing someone else :) it was great fun

Do you mean that the halback "misses" out the running forwrd completely? Or is it just quick hand from the forward? to the next guy?
 
However even if this does work it does not negate the early tackles that happen in open play......and it is those ones that are a concern.

Early tackles are deliberate.......you HAVE to push the dive tackle button! Manually done....not an act of the computer.....

Forward seems to catch and pass much quicker. Seems to delay the tackle animation too.
 
doesnt mean they are deliberate. it could just be a lack of timing.

i am not even sure if i did any early tackles last night, did i danny? if i did it wasnt many. (not many if any :D)

there should be a rule for it, like at one stage i was getting early tackled like 3 or 4 times in a row that got annoying :p

what about if you do an early tackle inside the opposition 22 or half its an automatic penatly and if you do it in your own half once is ok, but more than once penalised or something?
 
yeah woosaah it was working - i decided to adjust and leave the first runner but still couldnt nail the next guy.
Um yeah you did 1 early tackle out of all the games we did, but it was in midfiled on one of my backs it stopped him catching the ball but my other guy regathered it anyway.

Maybe i am confused.... is an early tackle one that hits the attacked when he has the ball even tho you are borderline offside or is an early tackle one that interferes with the man before he gets the ball?? i always thought the latter was an early tackle.

If the first instance is rue then i was doing early tackles all night but if the latter is true then i prolly did about 6 or 7 in the whole night.

Also better point out that Woosaah and i came across what would seem as an incorrect ref call, i charged his box kicks down and then he was penailsed for offside?

Only other way this could penalise him for offside would be if a man in front of the kicker tackled me?

Ruling out dive tackles would be a biiig call though.

So if their still in there, how would we know who used early timing and who just made a mistake?

It's quite a tough thing to police in anyway really. Would love there to be a good answer though.

Thats my belief too, Danny. I find no trouble coping with being hit as soon as I get the ball. :)

cheers Iversen, just need GG to concur then i can rest easy - otherwise ill owe woosaah a huge apology for how i played last night, it was those kind of tackles that i was hitting him with to drive him back each time.
 
meh i got away and won a few games in the end dont worry about it i just didnt want to lose every game :) its a legitamte stratagy, like camping in fps games :)
 
just want to ensure that we are all on the same wavelength when discussing the early tackle thing - i felt really bad when you questioned my tackling around the ruck, but the misstimed ones are definitely a penalty i reckon.

You naturally developed a workaround for it tho with the quick hands option - and damn it next time im gonna try the holding the ball in option - really slowed my atttack down. Good skills bro.

whens our next matchup? Thursday night at my whare?
 
yeah hopefully trying to get off call, so hopefully palm it off to the other guy on thursday cause if i get called that would suck as i have to use my internet to dial in.

it wasnt as much the early tackle thing, it was more the i get the ball and you hammer me back and i knock on. its fine what you did was fine there were a few early tackles though but meh thats life. we were only practicing anyway :) "training" as gg calls it.

my fav move was hamilton off the back of the lineout to step somone and score.

how often do you see a winger at the back of the lineout :) that served you right for taking out my no 8 :D

meh its an old trick from 05 i got penalised from it once all night, and i did that on purpose as i wanted to know how long it took for me to hold b4 i got penalised.

danny, you need work on your kicking :) either that or score closer to the posts as well :) makes it easier. All night i was getting easy kicks and you were getting hard ones. even my ones from the sidelline were easy because i had the wind right behind me most of the time.

CA is that ultimate warrior on rick rudes pants? also i remember the time when jake the snake down trouwd him that was classy
 
Yep, it is the.....Ultimate Warrior. I also remember Rude getting down-trouwed by Jake The Snake. That was so funny.

What about when Brother Love managed Rude for a while.

Or when Rude's slogan to women (before a rude awakening) was:

"II'm goinnng to be ruuuuuuude, to you". Classic stuff.
