I think rumour on Leo going is he always intended on going in to family business and felt every coach has a time scale.
Not sure if any truth in it but for sure if Leo goes it is on his terms. As BG8 said he signed 1 year deals just as it allows him flexibility and to be fair he is an intelligent guy.

On Lancaster I love the guy as a coach but think that is where he excels and like the role with Leinster now needs to be away from any other side of it as he seems to excel as a coach and seems to love that side. Not sure he wants a top job.

I'm happy with that, though I have concerns on the 2nd year - so hopefully 1 + an option.

Also puts to bed some of the rumours of a fall-out between him and the club when he left us in the first place.

Probably won't be a regular starter, but alternate between himself and Spencer on the bench, and we have a chance of keeping both fit!

To be honest. Leo does deals due to wanting to keep it open for reassessment for everyone annually.

And while Lancaster as I stated from the start won't be coming I actually think if he was to leave it is extremely likely he'd go to IRFU umbrella. And has absolutely no issues with Munster so he'd happily come here, Ulster or Connacht as well as Ireland if it was a promotion. An upgrade on his current role at Leinster or same role at national team.

Question is does Stuart want upgrade. Probably not. He just loves coaching do is in ideal role

£400k of accidental renewals is massive, especially with the cap dropping
Genge and AJ coming in on serious wages as well - doubt Bradbury is on minimum wage either (though Hughes leaving will even that up)

I guess the main issue isn't necessarily the money (I imagine they can balance it somehow) but what it does to the makeup of the squad, either by having players you don't want or having to release players you do and replace with bin juice

The thing is this I think is his ideal job.
In Irish set up it is extremely hard to be saxked so he has security. He just has to coach no worries on off field stuff etc so again he has exact role and lastly he commutes from Leeds and is on record saying it easier being between Leeds and Dublin than it was between London and Leeds

Then the rest is obvious or doesn't make sense
FDK and LDJ to be announced as leaving this week
Irish drop out of Watson race as Phipps is staying (Makes no sense given positions)
Radradra off to help wage bill makes no sense since marquee player. (Unless they agree to let him go and replace him with someone like Sinckler or Luatua) Pitutau is rumoured to be off so I guess the theroy would be Pitutau and Radradra off say Luatua into marquee player and then his cap would be free for Bristol to cover things.
