Agreed, never been impressed with him in the 2nd row.
Though that's where England want him, and it's also where josh said he wants to end up.
I'd have Strauss or Josh at 6 with the other at 8, would be top.

If Josh does move to the 2nd row, it's likely he'll pile on the weight to help his effectiveness. Gaskell now looks very useful in the 2nd row, but has put on something like 15kg since his move from Sale. Josh is easily talented enough, it could just be a matter of putting on the pounds.

I'm not sure it's the worst thing for Beaumont. It kind of depends on whether Sale see Strauss as a 6 or an 8.

If it's the former it adds another carrier to the pack which takes the pressure of Beaumont at 8. Alternatively if Strauss is at 8, it pushes Beaumont in to the 2nd row which is where Eddie seems to see him anyway.

Without meaning to sound facetious, what is it Beaumont actually does do?

Try and avoid watching Sale games, but if he's too light to play in the tight and doesn't have the heft on the carry...
