Transfers rumours

Rassie has confirmed we're in talks with Chris Farrell and James Hart saying the deals not done, but let's face it, if he's name dropping them in interviews it's as good as done. He also said we're in talks with two others, one of which is almost certainly JJ Hanrahan. Not the foggiest clue who the other guy is. Only guy we've been linked to is Porter but that doesn't make much sense to me.
Also Steve Crosbie looks to be going to Connacht from Munster to cover their injury crisis which is a no brainer and something I thought should've happened weeks ago. If Connacht had sense they'd try make it a permanent deal. He won't be contracted with us soon, and we likely won't really need him if Johnston reaches fitness and JJ brought in.

Big changes here too on deals for next year. JJ deal been slow as basicall he's madto return but lets say his pay is alot less than he'd like.
Bill Johnston is probably going and Cian Bohane linked with departure.
Porter not coming but a prop is also Keatley going it seems Dunc staying and Dave O Callaghan eyedx by Ulster and UK.
Also Saili linked with Wasps

Why would he say that sort of thing about a fringe player?

No reason to not believe him - I don't see him as a viable option for England at 8.
And in the 6Nations he travelled as a reserve when Lawes was carrying a knock
I think Beaumont is destined to pick up a handful of caps during lions year tours and injury crises but never really become first choice - were pretty well stacked at 8 and lock so it'll be hard to break through in either position unless he really starts playing a blinder every game but with injury issues and playing in a beaten pack every week that's a big ask.

Dave O'Callaghan to good to warm his bench. Would suit Ulster very well. They need an enforcer like him. Duncan Williams has improved his play hugely and has probably earned his extension. Cant really think of IQ props who'd be a step up from Archer except for Moore which seems unlikely. Kebble was linked, but Erasmus specifically name dropped Irish player being targeted. Be a real shame to lose Johnston, injury prone as he is.
EDIT: Another TH option could be Oli Jager?

Well there is few options. Williams and Hart will see huge game time next year as Murray will miss alot. Also Hart is a goal kicker. We looking more at a Du Toit style who can do both sides

Shame about Nev and sale great story, be a good move for him esp Bris.

Hill needs to move from saints to progress.
Was kind of Hoping Moreis would get the full back call, but woodward would be a great Brown replacement.

I'd love to see Hill come to us, really rate him.

I do like Nev, and as above his is a great story, but I half think his link with Cipriani was what made him stand out. His notable tries for us last season were him and Cipriani in unison.

Also having signed three wingers this season alone (and now McGuigan is playing there a lot too, so four) it's hard to see him getting meaningful game time any time soon.

All newspapers reporting Sam Underhill to Bath end of this season. Ospreys receiving 150k transfer fee.

For England's sake hopefully the premiership doesn't turn him into a 6.5

Even wasps have started playing young at 6. I've no idea why we can't keep 7s at 7 and 6s at 6. Really annoys me.

Jamie Gibson is another example and tom wood.

Indeed - it is annoying.

Bath have some decent players at 6 though so hopefully he will be played as an out and out 7.

150K! Must be a January sales fee!
Surely it's buying out 1 year of a part-ime / first-pro contract; seems fine to me.
He's talented, but he's an also-ran at the moment; if anything, I'd say that £150 a year is a fantastic wage for such a young, unproven player - and it'll be upgraded on arrival at Bath.

Delighted if this turns out to be true though - has always seemed the most obvious move; Bath need a young OSF, preferably one who with top potential who doesn't mind spending a year or two earning the shirt as the incumbent wanes.
Give it 3-4 years, and a backrow of Ellis, Underhill, Mercer looks potent; with those 3 learning off the likes of Garvey, Louw, Faletau to really hone their skills.
