Transfers rumours

He signed one this season just gone, but hasn't been one of the extra renewals like Josh and Haley (yet? I think I heard we've got another to announce soon).

fissler saying that Coetzee has told Le Roux he isn't in the boks plans ATM and so Le Roux is signing with Wasps.

I'm what the hell backline will Wasps have next season?
9) Robson
10) Cips
11) Wade
12) Beale
13) Daly
14) Halai
15) Le Roux

21) Simpson
22) Eastmond
23) Miller/Leiua

I'm hearing Addison to Wasps next season, which is why he only signed a 1 year extension (exactly the same thing Taylor did).

Wasps slowly building their Sale alumni side:
1. McIntyre
2. Cruse

4. Myall
5. Gaskell

7. Taylor

10. Cipriani

14. Addison
15. Miller

LOL couldn't make it up, and i thought Leicester are bad with Falcons, and Irish with Bath.

Interesting that Exeter and Wasps have the lowest percentage of academy players in their senior squads.

TRP also reporting that Le Roux is pretty much a done deal.

I'm all for seeing great talent in the AP, but I'd prefer Wasps weren't hogging it!

Given the success that the academy has experienced and the family ethos of the club, I'm very surprised to hear Exeter's name on this list. Based on the list on their website and a bit of Googling, I make it 19 ex academy players in a squad of 51. How does this compare to the other 10 sides that are ahead of this ratio?

because Le Roux and Beale are in our excluded players from the salary cap
That's never worked for anyone else when investing in potential rather than proven talent.

I don't personally think that Wasps are going to be up to the cap this year (though they might be pushing close next when a lot of existing contracts get renegotiated looking to maximise this year's increase); but equally I don't think Bath have exceeded the cap (deliberately/knowingly); and don't believe that Sarries have breached the cap for the last 5 years or so.

Basically, you've bought a LOT of talent in one go; you can expect to be the focus of a lot of speculation for a while, until some other club comes along and distracts everyone. It doesn't help that Wasps (fans) were amongst the biggest slingers of mud last time around, and can expect a lot of that to come right back at them now open to it.

I don't follow this. As long as to two players nominated are excluded players within the rules defined, how cn any player "work" better than any other when it comes to keeping within the salary cap?

The excuse doesn't work.

If excuses like "we signed a bunch of talented but unproven academy kids on their first full contracts" doesn't do anything to negate the mudslingers claiming that they're being paid international starter wages; then nor will "but 2 of the 10 will be outside of the cap"

Are you referring to the London Irish lads you signed If so then you're having a giggle M8.

Nope, just unconvinced by your (amongst others) highly persuasive arguments of "are you having a laugh" and "are you mad" or even "surely you don't believe that" and "it's bloody obvious".
I don't actually recall there being any counter arguments.

Either way, in the eyes of most, the plausible reasoning given by Bath fans a year ago didn't hold water. In the eyes of most, the plausible reasoning given by Wasps fans this year is unlikely to - which was the entirety of my point in this thread.

Sam Underhill being chased by clubs in England .... Gloucester, Wasps, Northampton on this link and also heard Worcester are interested too ....

It also said in there that Saints are chasing Samu Manoa. Seems odd after signing Picamoles, unless they're looking to use him exclusively as a lock. I've never really liked him as a lock, but it would be good for them to get him back.

If Wasps are under the cap, then I don't want to watch the Premiership anymore.
