Transfers rumours

I'd genuinely say he's like a Johne Murphy type. Excellent AIL player and can be a very good squad player. He's just unfortunate to be in a Leinster set up that has great competition backs wise.

Not sure where he will get the game time with JPP, Betham, Veainu, Thompstone, Brady on the wings but hope it works out Murphy, Morris and Murphy certainly did

Mick McGrath was the top scorer in the AIL a few years ago and had a stint with Leinster as injury cover. He was decent enough when he played but guys who come up through the clubs like he did will rarely make it big with the provinces because they haven't been groomed in a pro setup from youth. He was pegged to play 7s I believe as he has serious pace (definitely more than Johne Murphy), some pro pedigree and constantly seems to be working toward trying to get a pro contract. I reckon he's worth a risk anyway. There are less talented players with pro contracts out there.

Raw talent, probably too late to make anything of him other than a squad player to cover international breaks. Never made it past Darragh Fanning which says a lot but maybe playing under someone with more cop on than my dick after 8 cans or Matt O'Connor he could be a dangerous wing.

Difference between him and Johne Murphy from memory is that Murphy was solid at the basics but short of cutting edge. I can't remember McGrath's basics, but he had a decent amount of toe and power, he could be fairly dangerous.

Talk going on that Tigers have signed a top 8, TBF when Cockers usually makes a statement about looking at a position via RL when tended to have signed someone pretty much so could be true.

We have the looking at incoming and departures we prob have the cap to get a decent 8 min ATM.

Mysterious ... I've said before that I felt that Tigers are a top-class 8 away from mounting a serious ***le challenge.

Not too many top 8s out there right now though. Morgan needs a new challenge and from an England point of view, I'd be happy to see a back row of Williams, Evans and Morgan.

Samu Manoa? Guaranteed to infuriate Saints fans but he was reported to want to leave France not so long ago so not a crazy suggestion.

Parisse? Stade aren't challenging for ***les as they were a couple of seasons ago. He might fancy a crack at the AP?

Ben Ryan has said he has had offers from NZ and Aus Super rugby teams aswell as Japan to help coaches their 7's, XV's and Sunwolves.

He has stated he has had around 20 job offers so far.

Sounds like he is dead set on XV's rugby and mentions Super rugby and AP rugby.

IF he gets an assistant job in a NZ rugby Super team and then moves to an AP club as head coach after a couple of seasons i would say he could well be favourite for the RFU job after Eddie Jones if it all works out. (Thinking very much into the future).

Lachlan Maranta (Broncos, NRL) ---> Reds

TBH can think of plenty better NRL players to move across but will be interesting to see him play Union very good under the high ball.

Scott Higginbotham to Leicester Tigers. Has one year left with his Japanese club which tigers would buy out. That Rumour was going around last night at Welford road.

Yep I was thinking the same. I could defiantly see the sense in the move both for tigers and the player. Because the player has gone off the radar and tigers are desperate for top class 8 which would complete our side. 6) Mike Williams 7) O'connor/Evans 8) Higginbotham now that's a balance back row
