Transfers rumours

Gary Gold after Louw and Sisi for the Sharks, is the talk around Bath.

I know it was mentioned about Louw and a super rugby team in the England thread but didn't think it was the place to go in depth with it.

Shame Alberts is off as a back row of
6) Coetzee
7) Louw
8) Alberts

Would be amazing for a club.

Bastareaud -----> Wasps
Fickou --------> Toulon
SBW ---------> Toulon
Mermoz ------> Tigers & Stade
Manu ---------> Toulouse
Ben Youngs --> Bath
R.Gray -------> Bath
Charteris ----> Bath
Picamoles ----> English club
Kruger -------> Toulouse

The French media don't sleep when it comes to rumours.

I really hope these rumors about Ben Youngs and Manu Tuilagi are bull****.

It's good, Bath have already had George Ford, let us Ben Youngs.

Actually would love to see Youngs go to Bath- let Young/Ford develop a good understanding at club level and promote Harrison at Tigers (actually scrub that- Simpson to Bath instead). Any chance of signing Tuilagi too to play inside Joseph :p

I understand you mate, but already we suffered last season (with many injuries). Do not finish us, please :(

Manu hasn't played much rugby for us in the last 2 seasons, Youngs we have Harrison behind him with Kitto (NZ U20 SH just signed) and Tresidder coming up.

Big loses BUT not the end of the world Ayerza, Cole, Kitchener, Slater would be harder to replace IMO.

Don't shoot me down but I've heard from someone at Northampton that Keiron Read is going there after the World Cup and it's a done deal

It's been a done deal for months now. ;)

Pretty much ******** ATM saints fans have it in there head Read is coming as owner said a big name signing was coming (this was in June).

Read is the next all black captain and won't leave till at least after lions IMO.

Will the Lions tour hold many there? That's nearly a bigger draw than the World Cup for them.

Burgess --> Leeds Rhinos

Not necessarily very reliable, though.

For some reason I read that as "Burrell" at first.
I can't see Burgess leaving this early - for one thing part of his Bunnies release was that they had first refusal on him if he moves back to league, and I can't see them passing on him/Leeds paying both them and Bath (two clubs who aren't really strapped for cash, with their investors) for Sam.

James O'Connor has been released by the Reds today - reports saying he's going head back to the NH.
Wonder where he'll end up?
Toulon to replace Quade Cooper?

I imagine there's a few AP clubs with a spare marquee player spot.

London Irish?
On forum he'd be a great addition to any side, with the ability to cover 10-15 to a high standard.

Hell, I'd love to see him at Sale: We've only got one marquee player and have only signed one back three player (from National League 1) to replace McLean and Cueto and no one to replace Forsyth in the centres (and he was usually our 23 man, covering centre and wing from the bench).

Wouldn't be surprised if Maitland and Frank's were marque players at Irish.

Sale maybe but would think you should prob be looking for a marquee forward really.

That's a good point - I had a quick look on their squad list but didn't really think who would be the marquees there.

I don't think we will - Diamond has said that he'll be looking at signing lower-level pros after the RWC rather than big name ones (kind of how we picked up Ostrikov and Leota last time round).
Apparently a number of AP clubs are sniffing around the Namibian lock Tjiuee Uanivi, I wouldn't be surprised if we were one of them.

There's also talk of the Japanese back three player Ayumu Goromaru coming to the AP (as in he's specifically said he wants to play in the AP - not Europe in general). Bit surprised as I would've thought he'd be looking to make a mark for the new Super Rugby side, but he'll be a great addition to whomever signs him.
