Just seen the above. Not sure how I feel. I think Conor is great but Quins seem to be going a little bit stale under him. Change good for both parties if it happens?

In an 'anti-transfer' rumour, a number of sources are saying that Quins latest a big round of resignings is linked to the fact we WONT be signing anyone else new over the summer...

Saili very close to being a Munster player by all accounts the financial side finalised, length finalised and it's simply just medical and visa etc to be sorted. Will know more in next day or so

Peter Stringer --> Leinster

As much as I'd hate to see it. I think that might be 1 of best signing ye could do. He'd definitely improve guys like McGrath and would run Reddan close too. I'm sickened we missed out on him as he's still 1 of best 9s around.

Still an absolutely top class scrum-half, I'm gutted to see him go - he hasn't been getting enough game time but when he did was quality without fail; also our young scrummie, Chris Cook, has really come on the last year or so, which almost certainly has a lot to do with Stringer. Apparently he left because he wanted more game time, just shows the hunger is still there, but a real shame because I thought he might look at finishing his career with us and staying on in a coaching capacity maybe. I predict he'll still be very good wherever he ends up.

Munster missed out? Thought they didn't want him

Munster didn't approach him. Things still a bit off from last time. Meant it as wish we had him back. Him and Murray would compliment each other greatly.

I have always wondered what happened when he left. Shed any light?

Wanted game time. Coaches weren't giving it. He was unhappy with their reasoning and broken promises. And then felt he was unfairly treated at times too. I fully understand where he was coming from at the time too as, as like most, I thought he could still be a key asset but powers that be shunted him out.
But what I loved most about it was when he had as much reason as any to ***** and moan he still was in for massage or physio 2 hours before training, on pitch 30 mins before and 20 mins after. No moaning but just got on with it and burst his balls. He doesn't drink, smoke and is a pure athlete. In my eyes Strings is the true meaning of an obsessed dedicated professional. His attitude and heart.

I don't care where he plays. I'll always love Stringer. It'd be great for him to finish up his career playing top level rugby as he deserves.

Will Cliff ---> Bristol

Manchester Evening News saying he's "poised" for the move, and that usually means it's a done deal.

Would be sad to see him leave - very good 9 but has been stuck behind Peel and then Cusiter.
Can't fault him for looking for more game time, i suppose.

Stringer as player coach to Bristol is what I heard today.

Discount that.

We have Peel in that role, we dont need/want another. As Olyy posted, Cliff is our 9 target for Next season and we are getting a 9 from the Cornish Pirates for the rest of this season to replace Baldwin who, because he will be leaving, will play no further part for us the rest of the year.

As I said was from a Welsh person and I wasn't sure myself on it. Can still see Strings in France myself next season

Bryan Redpath --> Yorkshire Carnegie (DoR)

Apparently he's top of their list for new DoRs, and Redpath has said before he wants to be a DoR again, and not just a coach. He's not going to get that at Sale, so wouldn't be surprised to see him move on.
