Transfers rumours

I really think this is a silly argument, there is no trend in how an SH player will do coming North regardless of position. Nick Evans, Felipe Contepomi, David Holwell, Rocky Elsom, Chris Masoe, Dan Parks, Isa Nacewa, Doug Howlett, Jared Payne, Julian Salvi, BJ Botha, Ali Williams, Matt Giteau, Hosea Gear etc... have all played some of the best rugby of their lives in the North. Of course there'll be the likes Jean de Villiers, CJ Van der Linde, the Steyns, Rococoko etc... who struggle. Saying that an SH player moving to the NH is harmful for his game is like saying that Irish players can't hack France because Johnny Sexton didn't like it.

Would only take issue with you on Joe Rococococo...... The fact his team is pretty **** masks the fact that he performs week in week out on a consistently good basis!!!

Incidentally, he absolutely loves it at Bayonne and involves himself a lot in the village where he lives!!

Yes @Groundhog, Pau are building well as it looks pretty good that they are going into Top 14 next year. This is almost certain if they win this weekend against the second place club!!

I do think they will need a few more quality players to stay up though!

Paddy Butler to Pau along with Dougall rumoured. He would be a loss to us, despite not being first team. This is really making me hope O'Callaghan keeps performing, and O'Donoghue breaks into the team. Really clever signings by Mannix though. Butler is a quality player who is really up to the standard.
In my eyes I don't think Paddy will ever make it too the top. He hasn't the carrying ability or strength of an 8. But well there us offer on table but well he's being outperformed by J.O'D and Buckley too in training. As i said backrow is 1 of the hottest competitive spots around and well Paddy isn't young any more and feels pressure now.

Yep, losing Maitland, and potentially Van der Merwe would leave them with what, Seymour? Not that he is bad, just big loss of depth.

But they're loosing 1 or 2 key guys up front too. It has potential to undo a lot of good work.

Conrad Smith to Section Paloise.

that would be sensational

They're pretty much definitely going to be in the Top 14 next season, and promoted clubs often spend big so they don't just drop straight back down/can compete.
Would be a great signing for them and a nice little earner for Smith.

We are on for Matt Symons from the Chiefs as are latest spree any Chiefs fan no anything.

Well an English guy playing consistent Super Rugby had to be quite good.

Ex-GB rower to played rugby for Esher then moved to NZ and got pocket up by Canterbury in the ITM and then the Chiefs. I thought he looked pretty handy from what I saw last year. Certainly played a fair bit of rugby for a guy competing with All Black locks.

A workhorse type lock; one of those you never really notice while watching TV but that every successful team needs come ruck time.

Quite ****ly too... lots of shoving off the ball from what I saw of him.

Would make a good partner for Skivington.

I'd be surprised to see him departing NZ so quickly. This is only his second season here and he's certainly progressing nicely.

his Family is here, his brother moved back a season or so ago and he suddenly appears in the england selectors eyes with SuUper 15 experience. It's not a bad move for him to be honest.
