Transfers rumours

Cockers has said he wants a monster 8 now pearce is big but very raw ATM.

Imagine Vermeulen in a Tiger scrum (heaven) We should have some dosh about or possibly a marquee position about if Salvi does go, what with Parling, Thorn and Deacon all rumoured to be off next season.

IMO it wont be Sarries, Bath, Wasps, Glous, Bris, Irish.

It could be Saints, Tigers, Quins, Sale(?) Imagine Seymour, braid and Vermeulen

We could do with a big ball carrier at Falcons like a Duane Vermeulen but can't see it, I reckon Saints if Manoa goes or obviously Sarries. :)

Dont ruin my dreams man!

How much time has Manoa played @ 8?

Would think Lock may be a point of call for them mainly.

But yeh Saints would be favouites imo.

Manoa is our preferable 8. With Day and Courtney at second row so we want to be looking for a new talisman eight who can break the gain line consistently to get us the go forward.

No way we've got the cash for someone like DV, especially if we manage to re-sign Cipriani.
Saints could make a lot of sense, too, as above.

Hadn't realised Tigers had said they're looking for a big no.8 - certainly makes them frontrunners in my mind.

Just throwing it out there, BUT! Also heard Izzie Folau is looking at Saints. Jim and co were out in Australia over the summer doing bit of scouting and talking. Foden will probably be over to France once contract expires and we will need a new fullback. Also Folau would love to work with North and the marquee signing has to be from outside the premiership. Also read an ESPN article saying it was Toulon or Saints and after Toulons record recently I doubt many players will want to be treated like how some have been treated. Halfpenny and Armitage also at Toulon.

That O'Connell rumor is total ****. I don't know who actually makes them up, it was published in a French paper today, but he's contracted till 2016. They won't release the Irish captain to France for Christs sake.

POC rumour isn't impossible but I guess it's made up of:
- Pau links with Munster
- He has business venture in Toulouse
- He has said before he'd like a year in France

But he is contracted until 2016. So was Coughlan though,

There a lot flying around down here about it but as they say no smoke without fire, if Pau buy out the contract and POC wants to go whats stopping him????

Although I would love it to happen Tigers have a strict ruling on wage structure and the money DV wants certainly doesn't fit into that.

But then again who knows.

He has always said he wants to try and has business ventures outside rugby just outside Toulouse.
If he does go he will owe us nothing and what he has done with guys like Dave Foley is phenomenal and simply put he will leave us in good health. But officially from Munster point of view it only a rumour at the moment.

Seen on twitter that Sarries are looking to bring in BdP on a short term deal to cover Brits' long term knee injury.

So apparently Duane is being courted by us as our second marque player....

I mean - awesome - but surely this means that someone (possibly plural) is going to be getting the chop?
Saffer guys... is Duane good friends with Flouw?

I think Bath would probably become the first club in history to have both the current RU and RL players of the year at the same time.*

*I think it's probably safe to assume he's going to win it.

Oh God I hope not. Bath don't need any more good players. <_<

I guess that would basically confirm Sam Burgess would be playing as a back?

A replacement under salary cap rules has to be equivalent or less in experience and salary. I would expect BdP to be significantly ahead in both? (Not sure how they quantify experience, mind.)

Nope.

4. Matt Garvey
5. Dave Attwood
6. Sam Burgess
7. Francois Louw
8. Duane Vermeulen

20. Carl Fearns

Good god.

Good job Bruce Craig has got deep pockets!

That is certainly a lot of power to have in the scrum!

I wouldn't know if Flouw and Vermeulen are friends per se but they've had some time together at WP (alongside Burger, my fav WP loose trio combo to date) and of course 2+ years playing together for the national side so I'd expect a good relationship. I'd hate to see Vermeulen leave. Those steals on the deck on our try line have saved any number of tries for the Stormers.
