Transfers 2015/16

Brendan venter confirmed as technical director of rugby and Kennedy director of rugby. Well happy with that. Robson confirmed as well

Niall Morris -> Leinster

Decent signing, needed something in the back 3 anyway.
Is he any better than Mick McGrath or Darragh Fanning were? I'm not so sure. Like you say though, Leinster needed bodies in the back three. I'd prefer to see Adam Byrne, Billy Dardis or an academy player get time ahead of Niall Morris.

Depends how fit he is IMO, only signed on a short term contract i guess to prove his fitness.

But @ 100% he was a Tiger starter 100%, in the Murphy role not a out and out finisher but a hell of a footballer.

The last to Leinster men to return to Leinster from Tigers did well didn't they.

Lol nope. Cian Kelleher is gone and Morris is in? Not a great result if you ask me. Good player at his best, but not spectacular, and he's far from his best recently.

It's a reaction to Fitzgerald's retirement, bringing in a guy with HEC experience on short notice isn't a bad result at all. Kelleher is irrelevant and will be back if he's good enough, at the moment though he's not as good a short term bet as Morris.

The last I saw of him regularly I kept wondering if he'd return to Ireland to pursue international rugby as his club form was good enough to suggest a shot; never thought that of McGrath or Fanning.

Stuart Lancaster has landed himself a Defence coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons. Gas craic. NFL teams probably under more and more pressure to teach their players how to tackle in a way that doesn't leave them incontinent at the age of 40. Seahawks were the first to go down this route, and there's definitely no harm in it.

Furk his agent must be amazing considering he wasn't even England Defence coach.

Is that a permanent job or is it just the preseason consulting?

Presume it's temporary. Still has Super Rugby on the cards. He met the Falcons boss at a leadership conference in the states apparently and got hired from that.

Although - and this is very 20/20 hindsight - but if Scholes could have been lured to Leinster, feels like that'd have done Irish rugby a fair turn of good at that point.

Absolutely yeah. Scholes looks a fantastic talent who is ready to play Champions Cup rugby right now. Can't blame Leinster for seeing this one coming to be fair but he'd be a prize for any province in my opinion, including the one he just left. Can't see Bowe making any big return either at this stage.
