Glous rugby players getting ready for new boots:

Eh, people think four clubs will struggle to share the entire Midlands, roughly 10 million people? All they need is to find like 80 youngsters every 2-3 years...

The West Country manages okay despite sharing a much smaller population.

Its not struggle per se, as much as someone gets done over on stuff they've already developed.

But I think it might cause a few problems. And, tbh, the West Country only just about manages 'okay' for my money.

The real issue though is it leaves three clubs for London, most of the Home Counties, and a couple more counties for giggles. That's not enough oversight for the biggest and richest talent pool in English rugby. There's talk of London Welsh establishing an academy in Oxfordshire.

*pause* This should be a separate thread. Oi vey.

Lawrence Okoye has just been released by the Jets... still just 24, might be worth a shot for a prem side.

Not too many 6-6 140kg athletes out there...

Released is the way I always read it. There might be a degree of "Well we never wanted him anyway" but the only LI fans I ever saw with an opinion reckoned he was no loss to rugby.

Nah, I don't think he was seen as "the one that got away"... or anything, but hey... if he was interested then it'd be silly to not give him a trial.

He's a legit ****ing giant.

That's pretty much what I'd heard. As a huge athletics fan this is great news - he must have banked a few quid and should bl**dy well get back in the discus circle where he could still become the best in the world.

Would have been on what top Rugby players are on in England/France and Japan - £300k is the league minimum afaik.

Marcel van der Merwe -> Toulon

The French are buying all the useless props from the Bulls, thanks.

Dean Greyling -> Oyonnax :D

Yip. I don't often aree with Tank Lanning but am with him on this opinion piece:

Also Maks van Dyk -> Toulouse

Toulouse clearly has the better recruiting agent who probably actually watched some Currie Cup and Super Rugby.

Kruger now backing out of sale move.

As he fears his family won't settle in Manchester!

Lol nice one Olyy.

Prob feels it is safer and more stable in SA ;)
