Transfers 2012/13

Smith is at least a better flanker than O'Toole, who alongside Leguizamon, must hold the record for 'worst try ever not scored', and he doesn't use up an NWQ spot.

What happened there? I never saw the incident but people keep banging on about it - deets?

Wish I could find a clip, but from what I remember the Ospreys were making there way down the field for a try (shocking, I know) and the ball goes to O'Toole. Clearly not the fastest player, but with plenty of support outside him, it seemed a try would be on. Does he pass? Nope, goes it alone and with the speed of a young Martyn Madden goes over the tryline... with Aironi players surrounding him, preventing him from grounding the ball. It didn't really make much of a difference for the result, but he looked a right knob.

Speaking of which, Smith has just signed for London Irish.

what is London Irish's obsession with the Welsh regions reserves?

they've got Jonathan Spratt, Darren Allinson, Steven Shingler and Ed Siggery already there and now Smith

only one of those players in my opinion has any potential (Shingler) of ever being good enough to play for Wales (I know Spratt has played but those were fluke caps which he will never get again)

and none of those were even starters at their regions (apart from unfortunately Smith)

soon that London South Africans joke against them is going to turn into a London Welsh joke!

I predict that they are starting a decline, as they are losing some good players like Mapusua, Steffon Armitage etc and replacing them with players not at the level of the team that got them to the Premiership final in 2009

anyway, I thank them for taking Tom Smith off the Ospreys hands, he's not a great player and now younger players like King or somebody else deserve a chance

and also I can't forget that crap performance against Saracens in the H Cup

Oirish have been in decline for a while... under Booth and Catt they are sliding into oblivion. They are, ATM, the only team that has slumped to a greater extent than Bath.

The Dominic Day transfer to Bath has now been confirmed by the club. I'm not sure how many other transfers there'll be as is sounds like most are on hold ATM.

I hardly would call London Welsh a joke.

no I don't mean in that way!;)

I meant as in they call themselves London Irish yet have only Bob Casey as an Irish player, and at one point had loads of South Africans and people would joke and call them London South Africans, now people may now start jokingly calling them London Welsh as they have more Welsh players than they do Irish

No, he's saying London Irish will turn into London Welsh as they have so many Welsh players - like the joke about Saracens with all their South Africans. I think...

I managed to find a video of it on YouTube for you Cyril ...

the fans were no doubt calling him O'Foole for this blunder, although it must be noted that the Ospreys got a penalty try from the scrum right after so it didn't matter one bit

Weeeeell, it's not as bad as other people I've heard were making out. Still stupid, but more limited, visionless player stupid as opposed to that showpony knob Leguizamon.

Stephen Jones is rumoured to be heading to England at the end of the season, possibly to London Irish or Gloucester

he would be a poor signing for them, his career is on a downward curve and he's not going to get better and he will only be there for one or two seasons at most

and I thought it would be nicer for him to finish his career at the Scarlets, even if he is second choice

hopefully the Dragons will get Shingler to replace Tovey next season

Yeah, I'll take Shingler.
Send him to play for Cross Keys for a bit to get his Welshness back in order.

Just seen that Peter Stringer is going to Newcastle for the rest of the season when his loan at Sarries is up
