The Premiership 2005-2006 thread 2

Why would I be jelaous though?

So what, they'll finish second. We've an FA Cup to concentrate on.

We've won the Super Cup, cockle, and that will forever be more important than the Carling Cup. Only important to United since they realised they aren't good enough to win anything else.

Well, if their so shite, why are they still the number 2 side in the country?

Oh my word, English football is f***ed if a **** team like Man Utd is second in the country.

English football is at its lowest standard since the Premiership began........

*Cough* Swindon *Cough*

The standard has gone down big time in the premiership, look at last season with West Brom staying up with only 34 points and when West Ham were relegated they had 42 points.

Precisely, thank you for reinforcing my point.

I am no football expert but when united were winning championships they were boring, as chelsea are now. This in my opinion has made the premiership a very worthless product.

Although when arsenal were winning ***le's no one complained, as you knew when you watched motd (or the premiership) that arsenal would entertain.

Personally for me, the premiership is the most boring it has ever been, that is partly why my interest has waned and has gone to cricket and rugby. I am now enjoying two sports on the increase looking for new fans, other than the boring BP which is struggling to fill grounds.

Also I ain't a fan of 'lesser' teams coming up, people like sunderland, cp and reading(may eat my words) just spend too much trying to stay up and end up going down and then usually down again. This isn't sustainable and with the gap widening. Something has to be done.

So what have I done this year, gone and supported my local team Stockport County, in the time I have had my half season ticket they have drawn themselves out of relegation and are the accendancy.

BM

To be fair to United, as much as I HATE them, they were a great team to watch when they were winning everything, they were a very good time. Point acknowledged about the Premiership being boring though when they were always winning.

Next season will be one of the most open ***le races for years, IMO.

Does that mean the standard has gone down, or just that there is a larger gap between the teams at the top of the table and those at the bottom?

Or just that teams play more defensively?

No.

Chelsea won the ***le in my eyes when they beat West Ham with 10 men and a goal behind.

That is the stuff that champions are made of.

the same stuff, that lost to boro 3-0

the same stuff, that lost to fulham

the same sutff, that drew with brimingham

You don't have to win every single game to be a champion team.

The same team that has lost only 4 Premiership games in nearly 2 years.
