The two form teams in Australia meet on Saturday in Brisbane. Last year, the Reds sneaked past the Brumbies in the final round to clinch a play-off spot and leave the Brumbies wandering. This season, both teams are in the race for the play-offs again and both teams are looking good. Only 2 points seperate them, but the Reds have 8 points moer than the Bulls and Hurricanes, who currently are 7th and 8th, with 1 extra match played.

If the Reds win, they will overtake the Brumbies as the Australian conference leaders. The Brumbies have only lost once, against the Stormers, and had 1 draw at home against the Kings. The Reds have lost twice, of which the first round game in Canberra between the two teams, is one. The Brumbies won 24-6 back in February. As long as the score-line is not like the 2007 encounter, we will be fine. 6 years ago, both teams played in Brisbane, and the Brumbies won, with 3-6.

Some stats:
The Brumbies have scored the most points by any team with 221.

They have 2 players in the top 10 on the try scoring list. Henry Speight has 5, Jesse Mogg has 4 tries.

History in Brisbane:
2012: Reds 20-13 Brumbies
2011: Reds 14-22 Brumbies
2009: Reds 13-52 Brumbies
2007: Reds 3-6 Brumbies
2005: Reds 21-38 Brumbies
2003: Reds 19-22 Brumbies
2001: Reds 15-23 Brumbies
1999: Reds 19-18 Brumbies
1997: Reds 19-24 Brumbies

The Reds have only beaten the Brumbies at home, twice. Last year, the score was 20-13, but for that second win, we have to go back 14 years! Back in 1999, the Brumbies lost, despite scoring 2 tries to the Reds 1.

Honestly can't call it :( I want my beloved Reds to win. But I think it will be a low scoring penalty kicking game D:

Brumbies: 1. Ben Alexander, 2. Stephen Moore, 3. Dan Palmer, 4. Peter Kimlin, 5. Sam Carter, 6. Ben Mowen, 7. George Smith, 8. Fotu Auelua, 9. Nic White, 10. Matt Toomua, 11. Joseph Tomane, 12. Christian Lealiifano, 13. Tevita Kuridrani, 14. Henry Speight, 15. Jesse Mogg.
Reserves: 16. Siliva Siliva, 17. Scott Sio, 18. Jordan Smiler, 19. Colby Faingaa, 20. Ian Prior, 21. Pat McCabe, 22. Clyde Rathbone.

Reds
: 1. Greg Holmes, 2. James Hanson, 3. James Slipper, 4. Rob Simmons, 5. James Horwill, 6. Eddie Quirk, 7. Liam Gill, 8. Jake Schatz, 9. Will Genia, 10. Quade Cooper, 11. Digby Ioane, 12. Ben Tapuai, 13. Anthony Faingaa, 14. Rod Davies, 15. Jono Lance.
Reserves: 16. Saia Faingaa, 17. Ben Daley, 18. Ed O'Donoghue, 19. Jarrad Butler, 20. Ben Lucas, 21. Chris Feauai-Sautia, 22. Dom Shipperley

Definitely a hard game to call. I think the Brumbies have a clear edge in the front row, but the Reds have better locks, while the loose-forward trios are pretty evenly matched. Gill vs Smith at 7 will be a highlight. The Reds have the advantage in the halves too, while both teams have plenty of fire-power out wide. Overall I'm picking the Reds by 5, largely due to their home ground advantage...

I think home ground and Genia will end up being the difference in the sides, Reds but with no more then a score in it.

Will be intresting to see if the brumbies can get anything out of their dominant scrum. The reds are looking pretty smart in the backs..... man i hate the reds Ewen Mckensie must be on of the smartest coaches getting around as that bunch of forwards to me shouldnt be as good as they are. Almost scored twice already.

Going for the Brumbies. Terrific game so far. Brumbies up 7.13.

Whats the bet George Smith is starting for the wallabies come the tests against the lions?

Both teams have been excellent. Lealiifano in the bin for cynical ruck infringement.

How have the Brumbies still got the lead, not been out of their own 22 for the last 10-15 minutes. Incredible defence and incompetent attacking

Brumbies still deff look like the more likely aussie team to me. That last try was deff a load of crap no way he got it down with a players boot under it! Brumbies were robbed!!

Looked like they played for a draw, especially the Reds, just how many kick at goal opportunities not taken?
Enjoyed the game still, nice and hard up front

Well well well, that was an amazing game of rugby. From what I've seen here, these teams are my pick for the Grand Final. That Brumbies defense was absolutely incredible!

Brumbies were very lucky not giving away a penalty try. 6 infringements right on the line.

I think that the yellow card to Sio was sufficient. None of the infringements warranted a penalty try because they did not directly prevent a certain try, so the yellow card was the correct punishment.

Agreed, in that situation he can hand out multiple yellow cards but not a penalty try, for obvious reasons

Pretty sure gil got it down for a second. Reds kinda threw that game away not taking points tbh.
