Spring Tour: Australia vs Wales - 1st Test (09/06/2012, 10:00 GMT)

Better 2nd half from Wales, and good comeback, but some daft errors in their game as well.

Will be interesting to see how the other tests go.

Priestland is an absolute heap of crap

Absolutely shocking all game.

I think he must have actually been practicing kicking the ball straight to the opposition back three and his handling let him down on more than one occasion.

Hook has to start next week at 10, and if it's not too late Dan Biggar should be straight on the next plane out there as backup.

Same old same old from Wales
At this rate gotta wonder if we'll always be stuck on 'nearly' against the big SH teams

I think they have both given ample penalties away. And made their own turnovers.

I'll agree with you that the breakdown has been dominated by Australia but that's because of the huge effort from the Aussie 6 and 8.

Just my opinion though!

That was the best game ive seen Palu play in a long time. Yeah the other loosies need to step up and give warburton a hand.
Was expecting wales to target Vuna's wing as he's a hopeless tackler but didnt eventuate after North came off.

All I can say about that game is, Come on England don't let the Brits down!!

This is it. I god to hope the stories of Gatland making it to Australia this week is true so he can actually give them the hair dryer treatment.

I think a lot of people on this forum and around the world for that matter underestimated Australia, we were thoroughly out played today

Fortunately they have a roof in melb for next weeks game as it usually ****** down with rain this time of the year down that way.

Seconded, unfortunately.

Agreed, Pocock got the better of Sam today. Warburton just didn't look at all fit, in the build up to Higginbotham's try he was already looking absolutely knackered.

There were a number of players in a similar position to him, too little rugby played in the build up to these tests. This may have been close to our strongest line up on paper, but it looked like one that was under prepared. Perhaps it would have been better for some of these guys to play 60 minutes against the Barbarians last week.

Is Biggar fit? Fly him down.
Alex Cuthbert, good match. A few good runs and not as suspect in defence as many seem to claim he is. Shame about North :(

"Brits" means British Islanders as opposed to British I presume else the Irish may be a little upset!

To be fair , i don't think anyone here underestimated Aus. But i , and possibly others , Overestimated wales :/

C'mon then name them please.

Well Psychic Duck for one was convinced we would demolish their scrum... didn't quite turn out like that.

You and i both know a lot of people were doubting the Aussies, i can't be fecked to go through the forum

Think that's a more accurate way of putting it. With the emphasis on flying the starting XV out early and getting them prepared, was very disappointing to see them still looking like they'd got off the plane 2 hours before kick off.

I think we had the Aussies number at scrum time but that was the only thing we did have the upper hand on them in, everything else Australia was sublime in.

I'm not sure how I can phrase this without sounding like I'm blaming the ref, something I try not to do unless its 100% justified;

Pocock has had some favourable calls.

There

A large part of openside play is getting away with it and playing the ref though - and clearly Warburton got totally outplayed in that respect :p

Really hope they bring Webb into the team, at least as a subb. Would've helped loads to bring him on for Phillips in the last 20 - 30mins as his passing is still as sluggish as ever.
