I will make a prediction : this game will be the best of the tournament. I can feel it.
Man, I've always supported Scotland. For years. And finally (since last year) it happens : scottish people are actually glad to discover their starting XV. And so do I.
I really like this team, Lamont is just great, Walker seems to be really good, Paterson is a legend of this game. Evans is one of the most exciting player in NH. I'm so glad he comes to France next year, Castres plays a great rugby (and the same shirt color as Scotland), he will be really at his best I'm sure in this team. Where's Rory Lamont ? He plays well with Toulon, he is not as decisive as his brother, but he can be incredible some times. As for Jackson, I don't really know him, is he good ? I mean, to replace Parks is not easy...
As for the forwards, I'm sooo glad to see Beattie again. He was the best player of last tournament (no offense here, but Bowe, best player of 6N 2010 ? Beattie or Harinordoquy deserved it waaay much...) and I'm really looking forward to see him play. Gray was just the best player on the pitch against France, what a game ! Barclay and Kellock are okay too...
Anyway, even if Irish can play great rugby sometimes (I mean, D'Arcy, O'Driscoll, Bowe, Earls, Fitzgerald... wow...), I'll never support them until they change their philosophy. They spoil every ball they can in the rucks, always playing to the limit. I was pleased to see a good referring on France match, this team don't need to do that, and honestly I hate teams that kill rugby. Especially with a such talented squad as Ireland XV.
We always talk about the irish spirit. Well it's true, I had an irish friend in my team, we were all little dancing girls compared to him. He was just insane, and when he played, everyone was boosted by his spirit. That's what I love about Ireland, and the way they score everytime they enter the 22. If Joe Schmidt comes to train Ireland backs, it will be more than great for your team, but you know that already. He made such great work at Clermont, they were just incredible when he was there.
You should change your stadium name though, first Stade de France, then Millenium Stadium, and now Aviva Stadium. God save Twickenham and Murrayfield, I miss Parc des Princes, Arm's Park and Lansdowne Road...
Anyway, it will be a close game, I hope Scotland will win, but I think the opposite. As a true scot team supporter, I see a great game by Scotland, but winning issues. Ireland will be strong and powerful, and lethal when it comes to score.
And Reddan will play. I'll never understand why O'Leary plays so often, despite the fact he scored a try resisting to Mas, he is just not good enough for international level.
Ireland will win 27-22, and will show us they are the true european top team. They will win against England, who was not so impressive today, and they'll win the tournament, or Wales if France lose at Cardiff (more than likely). Oh yes, please do.
