Scotland on Saturday....

I just want to know why we were wearing out away strips when we were playing at our home stadium?

Doesn't that make the whole premice of home and away strips redundant.
I think every team apart from Australia should have an away strip; because nobody else wears white.
Argentina should have one for when they play Fiji or England away from home.
I don't mind if we wear away strips at home against the AB's, mainly because both strips look like ours.

It's a pretty asinine matter I'll admit, I just don't see the logic.

Rugby internationals: home team always changes strip when there's a class. Mainly to help touring sides. And it's polite.

That's pretty much it.

Rugby doesn't have 'Away' strips, it has 'Change' strips. It's always been the case that the home side has changed if the kits clash.

And just to be pedantic, we didnt wear any strip on saturday! :D

And is it decided by a coin toss if played upon neutral ground? As was the case with NZ v France in Cardiff last year...

I think all matches where there is a 'home' team, they will wear their change jersey in event of a clash. If it's a neutral venue, like in the world cup, it's done on coin toss.

THis used to be the case too for club games, especially in the magner's league, but I see in the past couple years that's died away.

World Cup it was the 'away' team that changed - Hence Scotland changing for Romania and NZ for us at Murrayfield.

bring back scotlands orange tops. i think they had purple ones at one time too

I'm pretty sure you were the "home" team in both of those matches. Maybe NZ choosing their alternate strip was only an Adidas marketing trick.

No, The Romania game Scotland were in the away dressing room, had their anthem played first, had their name second on the scoreboard ect.

Interesting.. To be the host, against Scotland, on Murrayfield.
<strike>God</strike> IRB loves the Scots.

BTW, our 1st strip is yellow. So I have no idea why, for that game, we've used blue - maybe to emphasize that you're the visitors? :p

Probably - it did confuse me a bit at the time.

But there was allot of discussion in the stands before Kick-off about the effects of "sir clives pillar" on Scotlands chances, so we were definatly in the away dressing room.
