[RWC2023] England vs Argentina (09/09/2023)

Care taking over the stupid ******* kicking duty from Earl. We get turnover ball and he kicks it straight to Argentina.

Really poor from Cheika and the captain that they couldn't change the attitude at the half. Worst Argentine performance I have ever seen.

I cannot believe the commentator is trying to suggest this is anything other than a blood and thunder, indignant, backs to the wall performance from England. I do not think it does anything to increase their chances of beating an equally crap team in the QF or a top 5 team in the semi.
I think it makes a huge difference. England will take huge confidence from this performance. A man down and they've won comfortably.

Could literally change the whole dynamic of the WC for them.

I don't understand what's happened in this game really. Even England at the height of our powers have never given away this many penalties (might not be true, fact check expected and deserved)

How good is England's attack supposed to be without their openside flanker for 78 minutes you 🤡
About the same as when they have their openside flanker. We're just about hitting our current average for tries scored under Borthwick.

To be fair, no amount of genius on the bench can find a workaround if your lads are dropping balls, giving away penalties, and free kicks like that. He'll be the scapegoat, and he'll prolly own it, but this is not his fault.

Is this the same team of Argentina that pushed the Boks so close and beat the Aussies.
They are actually woeful.
England have been allowed to control everything in the game, for the first time in months.

I mea, if they had shown any ability from open play, yeah. We shall see. Their group is so weak I don't think we will be able to evaluate until the knockouts.

One of England or Wales will win the WC. They'll ride the easy draw to the final and something will click. They'll scrape a narrow win

Beating Argentina is one thing but beating that complete *** Cheika is the real win.

I have to take my comment back earlier, England will probably make it out of the group. They at least have an option now for their crap attack. Bludgeon to the 22 and pass it back to Ford to drop over.

As long as they don't play Farrell too long it should see them through.

Think the commentators might be using Chat GPT to come up with something to say. They're talking absolute nonsense.
"Argentina have been awful tonight"

Me: well, they have stopped England from getting a try.
*Argentina score a try*

Maybe going into the game thinking it was already won?
