Well if they played like they just did they would've seen off Canada comfortably. Tonga are better than Canada, the final points table reflects that.

So I should be excited that my team now has to go through an irritating RWC Qualifying phase, and loses out on some better test matches and whole pile of IRB funding?

The result is absolutely fantastic for Tonga and Tier Two rugby in general but it REALLY hurts Canadian rugby. As I said earlier though we didn't have a good game against Japan, three tries and a draw in that match weren't good enough.
