What are your thoughts on that team? From what I saw, Bosch looked best as first receiver out of Fernandez/Bosch/Martinez G., if I was the coach, I would have played him at 10, Fernandez at 12 and Tincho at 13 (where I think he really performed well). Anyway, those three will be mixing it up anyway. (Btw, I have noticed that Bosch is not precisely your favorite player, you don't need to get into that here).

I heard on ESPN (Tacchini, Albacete and those guys) that they were expecting a few changes in the forward pack, to give rest to some players while keeping the backbone. They mentioned Ayerza for Roncero and Galarza for Carizza. They were just speculating though.

I do not want to see Horacio Agulla in the team anymore, he looks a bit tubby now and did nothing good against England, Juan Imhoff looked an exciting prospect when he came off the bench and really deserves to start ahead of Agulla

also I want to see Nicolás Sanchez given a chance, I've heard he is a Todeschini like kicker

I've not seen Amorosino play full back before so I will reserve judgement, but I'm not sure about moving Rodríguez

psychic duck

I think Agulla deserves to be there but it is a close call. Camacho was great vs England. I was really impressed actually. Agulla kept Ashton quiet and read the play well. I watched him closely vs the South American XV in August and, let me tell you, he was really impressive. His pace was up there with the house hold names. In the end Imhoff is a gamble to start. He may vs Scotland, and I hope he does. Sánchez is good but unproven. He´ll play 30 minutes vs Romania I suspect. González Amorosino is a really quick player. He is actually a fullback but Leicester used him as a winger. He could be dangerous on the counter attack.

On attack Bosch is very good. Questionable on defence though, particuarly when wingers are up against multiple runners. The guy was thrown into 13 for Biarritz. He did well but has no previous experience playing there. Vs England he was really good I thought. Bosch has to play 13 as there are no other players now that Tiesi has gone. He´ll do well I feel. He got better and better throughout the season and was ultimately picked as a 13 who can cover 10, 12 and 15. Its either him or Agulla for 13 and so i am happy that he´s been picked there vs Romania.

Rodríguez is a better 12 than he is a 15. He could really shine there, esp vs Scotland. My prediction is that Contepomi won´t be back into time and that Argentina will keep Rodríguez at 12 with Agulla playing 15 and Imhoff 11 vs the Scot´s. In effect it is a good option as Rodríguez and Agulla compliment each other.

I´m surprized about Ayerza. Phelan is really using this match as the real deal and I can´t blame him to be honest. 18 tests between Rugby World Cup´s is rough. In the end, Argentina have no issues in the pack. They need time together on the field. The game vs Scotland is the biggest in four years and so the coach has made a good call.

BTW Argentina´s team has been named and its the same as the one I posted.

I think Agulla is great. He didn't show up enough against England though.
The one I predict will grow impressive is Creevy. For those who doesn't know him, he is a young very powerful hooker.

I saw Romania playing and they use the typical Argentinian maul to gain meters... and they do it very well! be aware of that.

I would like them to kick less to the posts when they are far away. They better should kick to have a line out close to the rival's in-goal.

vBookie Argentina-Romania

I added the vBookie for this match

deffinetly agree with you when comes about Romania ' s strategy on penalties . after all the biggest pleasure in rugby is seeing your team scoring a try.

Melhor Time could you perhaps tell us which players to look out for in this match? I haven't really followed the current Argentinian team.

Argentina will play mostly with the foot and the backs. They know the Romanian forwards are too powerful, especially on a rainy day. Argentina have much more skilled backs than Romania and that is the way they will play. Remember this.

Hoping Romania can keep this one close. No vested interest in either team winning, but in general I always want to see a good game that's a result of good play by both sides.

Argentina v Romania a.k.a. The Oaks stats from RWC

Kickers: Argentina - Comtepomi 1 from 2, Rodriguez 29% (2 from 7); Romania - Dumbrava 40% (2/5) Dimofte 3 from 3.

Concerning Argentina stats: Missing on average 1 in 7 tackle attempts, 12 lost possessions/turnovers (2 occurring at ruck, 4 are hand errors), conceded 15 penalties (2 while in possession, 8 at the ruck).

Very weird Argentina stat: 8 of the 9 pens conceded (that ended up as shots goal) were on the left side of the field.

Concerning Romania stats: Missing on average 1 in 4 tackle attempts, 14 lost possessions/turnovers (2 occurring at ruck, 9 are handling errors), conceded 11 penalties (1 while in possession 3 at the ruck).

Stats Argentina wants to continue: 10 linebreaks, 6 offloads, 1 charge down, broke 29 tackles (5 in the opposition's 22).

Stats Romania wants to continue: 5 linebreaks, 7 offloads, 1 charge down, broke 13 tackles (4 in the opposition's 22).

Ref Walsh: 3 scrum resets, 5 scrum infringes, 22 penalties (10 at the ruck, 0 inside the 22, 7 were for offside) 7 penalties were used to have a crack at the posts, with 85% on left side of the field. Ranking Walsh out of the 10 refs at RWC (1 = most/highest), he is 1st for offside penalties 3rd for penalties (any type) and 3rd for scrum infringements.

Its about to start. I hope Romanians dont embarrass ENC!!! Go oaks!! even tho we are not great friends still supporting you here !!! :p

Hoping for a physical and good matchup, wow can Rodriguez hit the broad side of a barn? He is reaching Malifa levels of goal kicking horror.

It would be nice for Romania to win or run the Argys close..

But i got 100 that they win by blowout.!!

Cmon Argy!

Yeah, at this stage it is looking like it is going to be a big score.

More holes in the Romanian defence than punctured Swiss cheese.

Their scrum is still doing well though, good to see that it wasn't just us who struggled.

I know the pumas are ahead but I'm not particularly impressed with their rugby. Anyone else think they are dropping their level of play?
