[2015 RWC] Pool D: France vs. Romania (23/09/2015)

yes we are, its a very very ugly game. We dont even know anymore how to make a pass. Its a caricature of rugby, kicks, mauls, kicks, mauls. Thsi is St Andre style

Not sure if that double or triple movement....pretty close.

Damn Tales is dreadful, I largerly prefer Parra as a backup 10. We could then also have 6 forwards on the bench, and that's a Saint-Andre speciality.

france is boring, i dont know why denying it, we have the most boring french team we ever had.

No Attack just a reply to France are so boring 4tries and a bonus point!!!!
The term "Argie" is a derogatory one and considered offensive by many. I don't like it. It's not an equivalent to "aussie".
No big deal, just thought you should know.

Good match. Romania showed quality up front, across the line in defence, and finished their late try well.

France look decent, but no flow from Parra passing through the outhalf to a deep second-wave backline - I think Fiji made that mistake earlier today as well. And plenty of chances to spread it wide from deep, but they ended up in blind alleys. One thing for sure - the right wing is a bloodhound for the try-line: three from tight spots, and a fourth if the in-goal area was long enough.

Easy there. No need to attack all of us.
When it comes from a Frog, Argie is not meant as an insult. From a Rosbif, yes.

I think that the simple fact that they caused Saint-Andre to lose a few million neurons on this match, the Oaks did well.

Insults are mostly defined by the ones claiming to be offended, not by the ones saying it.

I'll drop it and call it a day. It's as if anything i post derails whatever thread i'm posting in.
Good night.

I had absolutely no idea. I thought it was essentially the same thing as Ozzie. What are the origins of Argie then? How come its derogatory, and is this something that Argentinians tend to feel in general? I've used that term in the past, so apologies to our Argentinian posters if I have offended anyone, I had no idea.

By the way is there a inoffensive shortened form we can use?

EDIT: Don't worry, I googled it, won't use it again.
Chiefly British Slang: Sometimes Disparaging and Offensive.
1.a term used to refer to an Argentine.
"This nickname is associated with its use in British tabloids in1 982, when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands, a British colony."

Good match from the french team, bonus point. We have dominated the game quite comfortably. Well done guys !! Must be one of the best start in a world cup for a french team :)

Quite weak romanian team sadly :(

I can't tell if Romania is defending well or France is letargic as hell

One thing about the lower tier teams is their defense and tackling has vastly improved. This is what is making them a lot more competitive these days, if you make your tackles, you're going to keep scorelines respectable.

Frog is an insult, and Rosbif - but the English and French don't take it seriously. Argie is a deadly insult, but only from the English and their stupid newspapers. I write Arg because I can't be bothered typing Argentini etc. But I still hate you because you keep beating Ireland.

very similar to "Froggie or Frogs" i personally do not see it as an insult and in fact, we had 6/7 playing for us at one time in Montpellier no one ever got offended then. but hay if you dont like ok won't use it, but keep the France are boring commentsfrom your country men away!!! after 4 tries and a bonus pt. did Engaland get the same measures when they scored theirs in the very last seconds of the game, level playing fields etc etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dulin is quick and had a good game and simply has to replace that ineffective lump Spedding.
Wasn't it Flanquart who gave that peach of a pass for Nyanga's try? Showing the ball and delaying the pass so that Nyanga could score unchallenged was class!
It was a satisfactory win but far from perfect. Next up are Canada on Thursday 1st and then the big one against Ireland on Sunday 11th.
