Russian rugby

The following command Moscow club "Fili" so named because of the same district of the city where it was formed in 1967.

2014 was the last year performance in the Russian Premier League, but maybe someday we will see them again.

At least I would like to hope so.

IMG_5939.jpg

The team is usually located at the bottom of the standings and were the best years of the team in the early 70's when in 1970, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 "Fili" became champion.

In the Russian championship team once back in '93 took 3rd place due to the fact that the championship left the strongest clubs of Georgia and Ukraine.

In the national team, none of the club does not act and is not given to speaking.

Most players probably do leave the rugby or will be playing for amateur teams.

Team website only in Russian and is no longer updated.

The only club from Moscow stay in the Premier League.

Established in 1974 in a watch factory "Glory" and bearing the same name as the plant.

Strong middle peasant Russian championship but a chronic lack of money does not allow the team to rise above.

66(1).jpg

Two-time champion of the USSR but in the Russian championship results modest.

2007 - 3rd place, 2008 - 2nd place. In 2014 took the 4th place.

Permanent rival Oxford students on tour in Russia. The last time without the national team players in a match dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the club in August last year lost 5 - 42.

Andrew Igretsov, Sergey Chernyshev, Ilya Osminko ,Nicholas Pochechuev, Mikhail Sidorov - сalled in the final tests with Hong Kong.

Also still Sugrobov Sergey and Denis Antonov summoned to the national team matches during the season.

The team from Novokuznetsk, Siberia and is 3000 kilometers from Moscow to the east.

Until 2014 called R C "Novokuznetsk", now R C "Metallurg".

k0NRYI44kr4 РК Металлург.jpg

Usually located at the bottom of the standings despite the fact that the team has traditionally played a lot of former players from clubs Krasnoyarsk - leaders of the Russian rugby.

The highest achievement of the club - 3rd place in 1992.

The team has a head coach - "YouTube star" Victor Shalunov.

This break of the match in Novokuznetsk - "Strela-Agro" Kazan.

I could translate this statement but I'm afraid banned not only me, but all of the Russian Federation.

That match Novokuznetsk lost.

The penultimate place in the Championship . "Bulava" Taganrog, 1,000 kilometers south of Moscow.

Club that participates in the Championship, it does not participate, then playing 7s.

The motto of the team: "Money is nothing"

Булава 2013.jpg

Command while coached by former player of team Russia, a member of the 2011 World Championship Vyacheslav Grachev.

But it did not help.

The "Empire" Penza, the last place in the Championship, 700 kilometers to the southeast.

imperiya06052014 империя пенз&.jpg

The team was established in 2002 and over the past 10 years has performed in 13 Rugby in Rugby 15.

Rugby 13 - 3rd place.

Since 2008 stands in the Premier League. The best result - 5th place.

At the end of 2012 due to the fact that funding has decreased in 2 times "Empire" fell relegation.

In 2013, won the 1st place in 2014 and went back to the Premier League where he ranked last.

And the last two teams from Krasnoyarsk (4,000 kilometers to the east) - champion and 2 nd place.

The team took 2nd place - "Krasny Yar" - a multiple champion of the USSR and Russia.

CHempionatRossii_po_regbi-39855 Красный Яр.jpg

1990, 1991 - the champion of the USSR

1992, 1994-1998, 2000, 2001, 2013 - the champion of Russia.

The club traditionally delegated players in the Russian team.

This year, the first Russian team, Alexey Makovetskii, Andrey Garbuzov, Valery Tsnobiladze, Vasily Artemyev, Viktor Gresev, Gregory Tsnobiladze, Igor Galinovsky, Nazir Hasanov, Rushan Yagudin, Sergei Bazhenov, Azamat Bitiev, Alexander Khudyakov ,Vasily Dorofeev ,Vladimir Rudenko.

Team plays a lot of foreign players from New Zealand, before their number reached 6-7 people that allow us to say "Krasny Yar" in Super Rugby ))))

This year, John Dodd and Tobias Morland left the team, but the team still remained Glen Horton, Craig Clare and Scott Cowan

Also in the team was a coach Siya Taumalolo (play for Tonga and the English club) at one time worked even the head coach.

Seva_i_Igor.jpg

He is not afraid to work in Siberia, though he at first, and complained of the cold)))

In the history of the team has a match against the "barbarians" in 1992, traditionally goes to England and Ireland to prepare for the championship of Russia.

One of the strongest clubs in Russia.

And finally champion "Yenisei-STM" from Krasnoyarsk, another club from Siberia.

e016f6ec2857 енисей.jpg

One of the leading clubs in Russia, during the Soviet era played in the lower leagues.

Champion of Russia - 1999, 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012, 2014

2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2009-2010, 2013 - 2nd place

1997, 2006, 2008 - 3rd place

The team has a legionnaire from Georgia, but the number of foreigners such as in "Yar" can not boast.

But coach Alexander Pervukhin voted "Man of the Year" in the Russian rugby and appointed as the new coach of the Russian national team.

5ac85cf5e782 Первухин.jpg

This year's team will take part in the qualifying tournament for the Challenge Cup.

Spring prefers preparing for the season in the British Isles and Ireland.

In the Russian team were called Gysin, Butenko, Gerasimov, Pronenko, Kurash Kushnarev, Country, Serkov, Simplikevich, Shcherban.

Without a doubt the strongest club in Russia in 2014.

That's all. Subject to change and place of the retired Moscow "Fili" takes someone else.

Maybe they?

Most likely the championship will begin in April, to monitor the results here.

Krasny Yar is my favorite russian club
They had some strong New Zealand players like the former all black Campbell Johnstone, NZ maori winger Pehi Te Whare, current Edinburgh fly half Nick McLennan, former Munster, Highlanders and Blues scrum half Toby Morland and current Hurricanes fly half Marty Banks.

The 3 NZ players who stays at the club are former Highlanders players.
The club have also 5 moldovans in their forwards pack, including the eightman Oleg Prepelita. Prepelita scored 10 international tries in 2014, only Julian Savea scored more (11 tries). He scored 7 tries his last 2 games for Moldova and was named best player of the russian league in 2013. One of these moldovans, prop Max Cobilas, is currently on trial for Sale Sharks (his brother is already at the club)

The team also have former Northampton Saints winger Vasily Artemyev and former London Wasps backrower Viktor Gresev.

Enisey-STM, the rival club from Krasnoyarsk is also strong.
As 2014 champion, the team will play the European Challenge Cup qualifying comptetition.
They have in their squad 76 caps georgian centre Davit Kacharava, who captained Georgia national team last november, and a NZ fullback Dave Thomas who played 33 ITM Cup games for Auckland and Bay of Plenty

Any particular reason why Russia can't find any decent scrummaging props? Georgia, Moldova and Romania to a lesser degree seem to be bringing them through very well. With the similar ex Soviet wrestling and weight lifting pedigree it seems a bit odd. It appears to be their achilles at the moment. If they can find some good front rowers, a few more nasty second and back rowers they could do alright.

Not to generalise.

We have now a team in the first line is played by two Georgian brothers Tsnobiladze, but against Georgia they do not play.

The fact that rugby is not very popular and powerful big guys go in wrestling, weightlifting, ice hockey, bobsled and so on.

Many players come from other sports rugby, Kirill Kulemin played for "Sharks" started with hockey, Innocent Zykov of "Yenisei" also came out of the fight.

Those who have these kinds failed.

If the popularity of rugby in Russia will grow, our team will get normal scrummaging.

I do not see any alternative but to attract players to the team with the "Russian roots" like Adam Burns from Australia speaking for the Russian Championship 2011.

As Vladimir said, Russia called up loosehead Grigory Tsnobiladze and his brother Valery (hooker). They are georgian and plays for Russia because they are in Russia for more than 3 years, but they refused to play against Georgia.

Here is a list of former Russians and Georgians wrestler who turned to rugby past 3 seasons
http://estxv.blogspot.fr/2014/12/soso-jabidze-des-jeux-olympiques-au.html

Innokenty Zykov have a wrestling background. He was ranked 3d best wrestler of the world in his weight class in 2007 and holds 21 caps for Russia since 2012.
Shamil Magomedov finished 3d in the russian championship of greco-roman wrestling and played last year for Russia, one year after he started rugby.
former wrestler Azamat Bitiev played his first rugby game in March 2014 and was called up for November tests even if he didn't play

But russian players do not have the same fight culture than Georgia or Moldova and most of their best players are backs

There seems to be so much potential for rugby in Russia. What with the "pro" league and athletes If they could get the administration sorted out it would probably help, especially since its such a big country. And if the profile of the game raised considerably. I'd love to see a 6 nations game or a test vs the Us in Moscow

For Ukraine plays Vitali Kramarenko man who took 3rd place at the World Championships in powerlifting, but they do not help much.

Lose and Moldova and Poland. And they still have a group of Belgium.

I'd have gladly went to the match with the United States in Moscow, but here in Moscow there is no normal rugby stadium.

The best is the stadium RK "Glory," I was there in August and it leaves a bad impression.

The national team plays usually in Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar and Sochi.

Yes, it is good that the former wrestler come to the Russian rugby, but this is not critical.

Otherwise, the team of Dagestan (Region where the sport number 1)on the wrestling would have won in New Zealand national rugby union team.

And at the expense of our potential then look at the match against Portugal. We have just started to train the team, "Krasny Yar" generally only going after the holidays, we have a 2 and half the summer strength is not enough, let's see what will happen this time.

<_<

Sorry, we looked at the calendar and the first match we play with Spain, not Portugal.:(

February 14th. Pforzheim. Germany - Russia. Referee: Cedric Marsh (France)

February 28th. Sochi. Russia - Romania. Referee: Ian Davies (Wales)

March 14th. Tbilisi. Georgia - Russia. Referee: Neil Hennessy (Wales)

March 21. Sochi. Russia - Portugal. Referee: Jaan Tempest (England)

In fact VVA Academy (Monino) this "ORS" - Olympic Reserve School - double VVA-Saracens.

RC Zelenograd (Moscow) - a team of Zelenograd in the Moscow region.

The level of these teams is low and the leaders they will lose by 60-80 points.

In my view the inclusion of these teams in the Russian Premier-League will give the same effect as the inclusion of the team Boy Scouts of South Wales in Heineken Cup.

Sites of these teams I have not found.

"Kuban" team of Krasnodar more specialized in 7s. More than 1,000 kilometers south of Moscow.

019fe6c2bb Кубань.jpg

They repeated champions of Russia in 7s.

At 13 and 14 years participated in the World Club Championship in London 7s.

I do not know how they will play 15 of their first line to the last time I saw them suffering from obesity.

They have one player who played in the world championship in 2011 and was marked by try to Australia and Italy.

Currently Vladimir plays mainly 7s.
