Rugby Championship: South Africa - Australia (29/09/2012)

If you want to understand the lack of rugby knowledge of PdV, just look at his response to Burger's eye gouging incident. His exact response was:

"I stand by Schalk, I'm still convinced he didn't do it. When you watch the footage closely, and if you know the nature of Schalk, you'll know he will never go to those measures to impose himself."

"If you are going to complain about every incident we might as well go to a ballet shop and all get tutus."

News reports from the Bok-camp suggests that Frans Steyn is responding well to treatment and the swelling has subsided. Team to be announced tomorrow 12:30 local time as usual.

While I suppose it it good that JdV will not move infield, Francois is out of shape and in poor form. I don't know whether it is the way he is playing, or being told to play, but he just isn't cutting it.

Well, clearly it isn't working at the moment. Why not give JdV a go at his fav. position? What is it with Springbok captains being placed out of position just to accomodate them? If they are not good enough for their own position, they are not good enough to be considered captain.

I feel Steyn is still in better form than JdV. Personally, I'd drop JdV and appoint a new captain, the issue is: who?

Oh yeah cause that says a lot about Rugby knowledge.

Holy **** Kusta you're an idiot. I'm sorry but you are.

PDiv started out with a more expansive gameplan in 2008 - AND FFS THIS IS FROM WATCHING THE GAMES NOT FROM NEWSPAPERS WHO ARE ALLEGEDLY BRAINWASHING EVERYONE - and it was shaky and didn't work well.

So he reverted back to Jake White's gameplan in 2009 (forward power and kicking) it worked well for us and we used it to win the Lions series and the tri nations. REMEMBER HOW EVERYONE WAS SAYING SOUTH AFRICA IS WINNING BY USING BORING RUGBY? REMEMBER IT? REMEMBER IT?!

THIS CONTINUED TILL THE END OF PDIV'S DAMN CAREER WHICH IS WHY MORNE STEYN (WHO HAD **** FORM IN 2011 ALREADY) STARTED IN THE RWC. WHICH IS WHY FOURIE DU PREEZ WHO WASN'T BACK TO FORM STARTED IN 2011.

Excuse my caps but hopefully you'll damn read instead of arguing and saying everyone else is wrong, because only you can be right. It's all that brainwashing right? That's for Icemn too. Open your damn eyes your narrowminded simpletons!

No, but it shows the lack of a rugby brain by PdV. He basically called Fitzgerald a whiny brat throwing a tantrum because he got a finger in his eye. It's just one of the many, many, many ridiculous things PdV has done during his tenure as a Bok coach.

@ Draggs: Morne Steyn will be our new captain ;)

Eze, our prediction powers are frightening at times.
If Steyn is the captain, I'll let everybody on Keo and the Springboks FB page know who is to blame.

PdV just wanted to go off Jake White's game plan. Just as Sker has said, he picked FdP even though he was off form. I was half expecting Monty to get called up, just for extra 2007 power in the World Cup last year.

If you look at the debutants under PdV, you see either shoe-ins like Lambie, Mtawarira, de Jongh, Aplon and Brussow... Or terrible players like Rose, Johnson, Dewald Potgieter and Deon Stegmann. Not 1 player made his debut and being regarded a real find by our coach.

Well, Peter de Villiers has always been a coach who was using racism in every argument he had. A lot of the couloured players he used were just awful. Bolla Conradie, Tonderai Chavhanga, Gcobani Bobo, Ricky Januarie, Ashley Johnson and Earl Rose never deserved to even be in the squad based on their performance and form. Yet they were included by PdV. By far the worst black player to represent the Boks during his tenure is of course Luke Watson ;)

I am waiting for the moment when we have a Bok team where the quality, form and performance is more important than skin color. Everyone was going on about Jongi Nokwe and yes, he scored 4 tries in 1 Test match against Australia but really, was it that much of an achievement? Yes, he put the ball down behind the try-line but for neither of his 4 tries that day he had to do much more other than catch the ball, take 2 steps and put the ball down. It was only an achievement on paper, really.
If pdiffy is an idiot for selecting useless black players... HM must be a bigger idiot, not only is he selecting useless white players(Greyling, morne, JDv, spies etc) but he is doing it after pdiffy tried and tested results showed it doesn't work... You need to pick on form!!!
HM epic fail!

Nobody here is defending HM, we're just calling you stupid for supporting PDiv.

People blame just his tactics but his player management is utterly ****. Look at the England tests. When we played England in 2007 and 2008, we scored a total of 23 tries in 5 (average 4,6 tries per match) matches against England. This includes a match at Twickenham and 2 during the World Cup (I even included the try-less final to make the results more lenient towards HM).

This year we played them 3 times, all 3 at home. We scored a total of..... 7. That an average of 2,3 tries per match. Yes, I know... It's just statistics, but add to that the fact we are without form players like Lambie (yes, in the squad but that's it), Ludik (the best full-back in South Africa since the start of the season), Aplon (despite playing in the defensive Stormers side, he does break the line and scores tries) and I can go on and on. No, in stead we are looking at Morne Steyn, Zane Kirchner and an impotent captain in JdV.

This won't change anytime soon and HM is building towards 2015, but he has already wasted 1 year of his plan. It's time to give the youngsters and form-players a chance. For the sake of argument, what about this, once everyone is fit:

1. Cilliers
2. B. du Plessis (c)
3. Mujati
4. Etzebeth
5. Kruger
6. Brussow
7. Coetzee
8. Kankowski (Once he returns from Japan)
9. Reinach or van Zyl
10.Lambie or Goosen
11.Pietersen
12.Whitehead
13.R. Ebersohn or Jordaan
14.Aplon
15.Ludik or Taute

Imagine that! A back-line that actually gets the ball. Wow!!! I know, a lot of Sharks in the team but think about this... We made it all the way through to the Super Rugby final, are contesting for the top spot in the Currie Cup log and played the Currie Cup final twice in a row and 3 times in the last 4 years. Experience up front, young eager players at the back.

Stop calling kusta an idiot!
why is Pdv an idiot? He used (according to you) the same gameplan as HM is using now... Why isn't HM an idiot?
or are you only referring to what pdv talked about in interviews... When my friend, HM is also not the sharpest knife in the draw when it comes to interviews... So I'm a bit confused here... didn't HM learn anything from pdiffy's mistakes??? Epic Fail...

Holy ****

I think HM is an arrogant stupid twat who should have dropped M.Steyn long ago. I also think Pdiv was a ****ING idiot.

What is "EPIC FAIL" is you guys jumping on the Pdiv support bandwagon when Icemn I DISTINCTLY recall you tuning the Boks for winning using boring rugby in 2009 - 2011. I remember it oh so well, and guess what bru, that was all Pdivvy.

I'm referring, my friend, to his failed gameplan and his horrible selections.

So far do I think HM is an idiot? A bit yeah, Jacque Potgieter, M.Steyn, JdV (Although I don't see if he has much of a choice, we can only hope and pray he'll pick another captain for next year) and he is an arrogant *******, but I'm remaining positive and hoping he'll surprise me. Because we need a ****ing break.

I'm support pdiffy cuz he had the balls and vision to bring change. he had to refert back to stampkar, but we won't know if it was his decision or pressure from the board... Hence my comment "u can't change 200years of SA rugby mentality overnight"... Hence you guys are putting the blame on pdiffy alone... I told you guys already, subs went onto the field at times and pdiffy knew nothing about it... On to HM, he is sticking to the old gameplan of 1893 and that he can't even do properly...

Do me a favor and watch some Currie Cup, this is more "blue bull" rugby that has been played since circa 2004. Watch some videos of old bok games. We had an effective combination of kicking and running sometimes. You know who else had balls but failed miserably? Rudolph Straueli.

Mtawarira (Sharks form) at loosehead, Oosthuizen tighthead.
Dat backline... Factor in Serfontein by next World Cup... Oh my!

How old will Aplon be by then though? Maybe we'll see Rhule at 14.

I'm talking about now, not 2015 otherwise I would have mentioned Kitshoff, du Toit, Serfontein and Stander
