RBS 6 Nations - Scotland Vs England (04/02/2012 - 17:00)

I agree that the media love Haskell, would you have him in the side now if he was available?

Remains an oddity for me. Moderately-warmed to the guy in recent years, despite his persona being the "all about me" type. His past indiscretions off the field (expulsion, vitriolic harassment of his ex's other half, etc) have him tainted in my eyes, but he has improved. He still loiters around in the centres far too much for my liking and is very much of the "gym rat" mentality (a plague that seems to have spread throughout English rugby), but he does bring a certain something.

I think that everyone needs to move from England's terrible world cup. As an english man living in ireland, i've been getting a lot of greif about it and people saying that England are going to fall apart this 6 nations. But with the arrival of the new coach, I think that things are looking up. It is clear that Lancaster knows what he is doing and isn't listening to any crap and doubts that people are giving. Yes England might not win this game as they are a young side, but I think Chris Robshaw has the makings of a good play, and from his performances at Quins there is no doubt he is going to be a bigger player in Englands future!

All the best boys!

England should get off the coach in these shirts:

I think you need to dump the bad apples in your team like Lawes, Ashton, Hartley, Tuilagi etc and perhaps anyone who took part in that hideous Nike ad.. These guys only bring down the team and are only in it for the dirt factor. Maybe when you rid the team of these guys than perhaps you will see some love. Why can't an honest, decent player like David Strettle for example replace Ashton (who in my opinion is leaps ahead of that bird brain)..and please , no more swan dives!!!
I initialy thought this was a joke, the reasoning behind this is massively flawed Why would a team drop its best second rower, its top try scorer and it brightest prospect/ most dangerous ball carrier this is crazy a rediculous statement. Ashton was our top try scorer at the world cup rediculous to drop him for strettle,
On a second note i think Haskell would be desirable since he played well at the WC and his rugby has improved generally over the last 18 months

As much as people don't want to admit it: Haskell is a good rugby player.
Going off of the O2 Inside Line videos he seems like he'd be a funny guy to have around as well (like Andy Powell on the Lions DVD).

What happenned to Beattie, Brown and Vernon?

Out of reasonable form, broken, out of reasonable form respectively.

I actually can't believe Parks is starting :/

England to win with a decent score, what's the latest odds?

Interesting selections: Seems to be going on form, with the exception of Kellock, who I felt played really well for Glasgow in the last two HEC rounds. Parks has actually been in quite good form for the Blues, so I'm not going to disagree there, but I do feel Weir deserves a bench spot, with Laidlaw covering 9. Glad Lee Jones is going to get a go on the wing, too, as I've always quite liked him. I would have started Barclay certainly, although I think that the three back rowers starting have probably earnt their wheat of late, so can't squabble too much.

When is the England team out?

Still a good few caps in the Scotland team, I don't think there is anyone to put the fear of god into England.

Most odds have Scotland at about 11/8 England 4/7

England team will be announced on Thursday.
Don't get why they couldn't just announce it today like all the other teams - I bet the players already know.

And seriously, WTF is Morrison supposed to do off the bench?!?

Why is Parks starting?!?

Certainly not an impact player, and can only play (in the strictest sense of the word) 12.

Why is Parks starting?!?

Should he have to come on, there would have to be several changes to the back-line's structure.

Why is Parks starting?!?

Why is Strokosch starting, what on earth has he done that is above the level of either Harley/ MacInally or even Vernon?

Why is Parks starting?!?

I suppose I should be happy that Rennie and Jones are starting. :/

couldnt agree more, but give strokosch a chance, i have a feeling it will be a kicking game and all scotlands points will come from the usual method (kick), also surly hogg and weir should be at least on the bench.

i have a feeling that if it wasnt england first weir/laidlaw would definetly be starting and surly hogg should be on the bench morrison offers nothing.

Yeah, could have done a lot worse than Strokosch, just a little anoyed His Untouchableness gets to start.

What if Parks needs to come off? Laidlaw has never played with Cusiter, but has with Blair. This means that should we need a change a 10 (which I think is more likely than not), then we would have to do a double substitution. Another potential problem arises if Cusiter is playing well... Blast it

In Andy I trust B)

P.S. Just make sure as hell that if Parks doesn't perform he is appropriately subbed.
