RBS 6 Nations - Ireland vs Wales - (05/02/2012 -15:00)

When in doubt: resort to casual racism.

C'mon now lets not go down the pc brigade route. Is calling them monkeys really racist? Unless you think he's referring to Dussautoir the only Black player on the French team...

No you are referring to it. However it's down to the historical part is probably what Olyy was talking about.

I can't see how thats racist either.

Edit: Just to point out im not having a go.

Negative stereotypes can be taken as casual racism.
Depends how it's said, I suppose, however there was nothing jokey in the way that it was said.

Interesting to see how the Welsh media react to this win . Our regional rugby is being blasted on a weekly basis by the doom and gloom merchants . Yes some of our players are being coaxed away by money in France and England but I saw more than enough young talent yesterday to suggest we shouldn't shut up shop just yet.
Also listening to the pundits this morning and all commented on how well we played in the first half. The stats and scores suggested that our second half was far more productive.
I don't think there's alot between Ireland , Wales , England and France and should lead to a close championship.

Having been a little miffed at Olyy about this at first. Thinking he was having a pop at me.

If you take a look at what was said. The posters comments in full were a negative stereotype or profile of a group of people based on little or no reasoning. All in all they were racist.

Our regions are being blasted weekly because quite frankly they deserve to be they have been very poor at times this seson to be honest, and to say our players are being coaxed away by money seems a bit grasping at straws as out of the 35 man squad named for the six nations 3 play in England and 3 play in France and all 5 are now squad players not what I would consider starting 15 for Wales, only Phillips can be considered as a started and he is under pressure from Lloyd Williams.

As with the world cup our kicking was poor again yesterday if Halfpenny kicked from the start we could of been a fair bit clear of Ireland and a lot more comfortable I personally think we will win the six nations by beating France in Cardiff, with Ireland finishing second the big problem for Ireland is replacing O'Driscoll and thats a massive problem for them.

The point I was trying to make was that even thou our regions are hardly setting the world alight we are still producing some young talent.
I'm not sure whether the Welsh folk have really grasped regional rugby...buts that's for another thread

just watched some highlights form the game and i only have one thing to say. how good is george north. made a couple of great breaks but the one that lead to jonathan davies 2nd try was amazing. the way he got on the outside of gordon d'arcy and then sent fergus mcfadden flying accross the field was full of class. he then managed to draw in two more defenders and then throw a prefect flick pass to davis. his combination of size, speed, strength, vision and skill are so rare, especially in someone so young.

I do. On the form from the first weekend England shouldn't be in that list. It is a new team, but they did very little and the Scots looked better. Ireland are a decent team and certainly the same for Wales. France did what they needed to do quite comfortably but not yet pushed but they look to be right up there. England have it all to do to get back up the top but that's not to say it's beyond them. Luckily for them Italy is home and they aren't looking at all dangerous in the backs so should be another confidence building win for England.

Thanks guys for the reaction, It is sometimes really annoying to read these sort of stupid comments.

Very nice match between Ireland and Wales, Made my Sunday afternoon ! Waiting for the Wales-France in Cardiff ! that should be a good fight :)

Just got back from Dublin now. A TRF cyRil exclusive report will be with you at some point this week. Right now I'm going to sleep for the first time since Friday xoxoxo

Just finished watching the game again, pretty simple why we lost really, our backs couldn't handle the size of their Welsh counterparts. It didn't help that we kept kicking the ball away to their backs either. We dearly lacked some bulk in the centres as well, they targeted that area and constantly gained ground. I really wish we tried Bowe in the centre, he's 6'3 and nearly 100 kg, what harm is it to try?

O'brien in the centre and then put a "proper" 7 in the backrow. That would solve all our problems
