Premiership Rugby 19/20 - Rd 17

Isn't there a pretty good amount of research that suggests players are more prone to injuries in the latter parts of games when they're tired as tackle/clearout form starts to slip? Even if these injuries don't seem directly related to being overworked, I'd say there's a good chance that it's a serious underlying factor.

Bringing on a back for a frontrower seems unfair - uncontested scrums and an extra back to fling it around

Edit: fair play, prop at hooker. Gonna be some power in that shove
Also, not allowed, have to have 3 front rowers, or 14 men.

And fair play to West, and more so to Barnes for making sure.

Ultimately, XV Vs XV, uncontested scrums.

Bath going to feel confident in the lineouts - where Robson draws the short straw

Apparently you can't even drive right through the centre of a ruck if the player in the ruck has a 9 or 21 on their shirt...

Bullshit Barnes decision turns a legitimate turnover into a try and yellow against Bath.

So poor from Bath, don't deserve to be within 7, let alone leading!

How the hell is that not a penalty to bath?
Fair turnover by Willis but then the only reason it became unplayable was because he refused to release when Stuart was jackling

So Wasps turn us over and that's fine but then Bath tries to turn it back over, on their feet over the ball and penalty Wasps. WTF is up with these decisions against Bath recently? They are nonsense. Barnes decisions the last 5 mins have cost us the game. His calls have also denied us 2 possible tries.

Happy with the win, luckily uncontested really favoured us as that bath scrum/lineout is monster. Glad to see Barnes making the call with West at Scrum as looked like he was under pressure to say he could hook.

Also if anyone wants to see a crunching tackle, poor old (young) De Glanville got munched by Launchbury.

Will take the points and go home to see who else we have that can play hooker :)

We gonna talk about the fact Wasps scored the winner from a line out maul where they didn't have a thrower ... and Bath didn't bother putting a jumper up? Stupid stupid stupid.

On top of which why weren't we kicking every bit of ball we had to touch and making them throw all day?

It was odd.... i mean it seemed like people panicked and didn't want to upset the normal flow of a game so didn't punish us...

Looks like we are on the call out for a hooker or two as massively short now. Someone get 'the hair' Ashley Johnson on the phone haha

Wouldn't be surprised if you signed Nic Dolly, he ticks all the right boxes for a Wasps hooker:
  1. Was in the Sale academy

Seriously though: he's a really good player and I was gutted when we released him (he graduated the academy and we couldn't justify offering him a senior contract when we had three senior hookers and two in the academy)
