[November Tests 2017 EOYT] England vs. Australia (18/11/2017)

So he's already 5years behind the Currys then? :p

Haha you are right he's 23 but still its not that old, though its odd how young our team actually is and most of the older ones ( brown hartey robshaw ect.) People are wanting to replace them with a younger model (watson George underhill) :)

Once again the Aussies have got it into their heads that the best way to approach this fixture is to talk **** about England in the media and make accusations of us... I'm actually kinda fed up with it. They do this every single time and it's such a **** attitude to have.

It takes the shine off the game a bit. But like Eddie said in the press "We'll play hard but fair" and if they stick to that, they'll just look a bit stupid for blabbing on about it in the press. Discipline is key tomorrow.

It's no surprise.

South Africa are a bit different, tend to just expect the side to blitz everything in front of them. Kind of like us they expect rather than get involved as it were.

NZ and Australia are a different kettle of fish. They both use the media as a secondary arm to the side and often teams feel the pressure and get disrupted by them. Australia tried it in 2016 and it went badly and NZ tried it this year with not great results. However in the past it's been a very effective tool and they aren't afraid to get any advantage they need to win. As Woodward said, the mentality is win at all costs, especially against England.

It's the Australian way, pick any sport you can mention and they'll be doing it. But I agree, it's very tiresome.

The thing is the mentality such an attitude promotes is a whinging, whinging victim mentality whilst the attitude it causes in the opposition is a siege and "well **** you" mentality. I know which tends to be stronger... If you want to make your opposition uneasy then the best bet is to just talk calmly and confidently about your own abilities, without being arrogant. For example how many times to people talk about the final 20 minutes against England?

Mate, having lived in England i can guarantee you that your media is unparalleled when it comes to printing whiny, turgid garbage. Having said that, Cheika does it before pretty much every game so at this point it's clearly a considered tactic. It doesn't win him many fans in Australia, much less the rest of the world.

In actual news, Coleman is out for Australia (being our first choice lock). We have a debut as a replacement. Given the long list of unavailable players England have no excuse now. If it's anything less than comfortable you've ****** up.

But we weren't talking about the media, we were talking about the coaches and players.
I disagree that the UK media is unparalleled when it comes to whiny, turgid garbage. Australia and NZ both have frankly terrible press and media, the only difference is that Poms don't generally spend their spare time reading the Antipodean stuff unlike our cousins down here.

Australian Media: "Farlap and Pavlova are Australian. Also, the Coaches need to be fired"

New Zealand Media: "Hey Bro, anyone got any KFC?"

British media: Any story here? No? Doesn't matter, we'll make something up.

Ah, 'Whose media is worse', the return of the most boring possible discussion on the internet

Since none of us are Murdoch or Dacre, why bother?

Not going to get s spectacle of running rugby in that rain.

Have to say in real time I did wonder about Greenwood right to point it out.

I think him and Daly are just fitting in wherever/swapping.

England are loving those RL style bombs today, working well with the kick chase from our speedsters in the backs, too
