Next players to be capped

if Heyneke Meyer is *****ing about the lack of experience in the team, why didn't he call up BJ Botha?
I imagine Munster would have something to say about that...

Having just had a look at the irb documents on player release, I believe what they'd have to say is "As you order".

Some of our western brethren believe that Heart & Soul Andy Fenby will be a new Welsh wing. Oh my.

Fenby could pick up a couple of caps if we get desperate, after all, he's probably a better option than Tom James or Chris Czekaj. He's had a great start to the season, but has to show that he can continue to put in those performances every week, something he hasn't done in the past, and something I can't see him doing in the future tbh.

Ultimately, our depth at wing isn't huge, so he's got a good chance of picking up a cap during the tour to Japan next summer. There's a very good chance that North, Cuthbert and Halfpenny will be with the lions, which leaves Stoddart, Harry Robinson and possibly Prydie and Harries as the only wingers ahead of Fenby in the pecking order for that tour. Can't remember when Dirksen becomes Welsh qualified, him as well if he is.

I forgot about the tour to Japan. In that case, he could possibly get a couple of caps if he can keep scoring throughout the season.

But Prydie (why the hell did the Ospreys let him go in favour of playing Isaacs?), Robinson, Harries are preferred options as you mention ... plus Aled Brew (still only 25 despite being around for ages) and has been playing well for Biarritz (was named as one of the players of the week by Rugbyrama last week).

Dirksen qualifies in June 2014.

It would be interesting to see the Wales backline for Japan. Nice opportunity to try a few things out.

I am genuinely more excited for the Japan tour than Lions tour.
We need to try out some tight forwards, perfect opportunity! Tom Prydie and Daniel Evans are looking pretty good for us (not hard, I'll give you that), and we have Liam Williams excelling for the Scarlets. Considering our lack of depth at outside half, if Patchell has a moderately successful season, he could even be given a chance. I'd say this is unlikely, given the fact the JWC will be around the same time, but we do like our young caps.

Isaacs and Fussell must be two of the clumsiest back three players for any Pro12 team. Granted, they are pretty much out of position, but Tandy must see something.

Pretorius will be Welsh qualified, while Paterson must be getting close (might just miss the Japan tour).

Meh, don;t think Paterson needs to be capped by Wales, don't really think we'd need him unless injuries are truly dire! While I do hope Patchell gets plenty of gametime this summer, I'm really hoping we see Tovey develop a lot more in the Blues 10 jersey, especially since we didnt see too much of him last year. Really do think he could be pretty damn useful for Wales, so wouldn;t be surprised to see him (finally) get his first cap, provided he puts in a decent season for the Blues.

Paterson is a solid flanker, I know he wouldn't let us down.
I would put him ahead of Turnbull, at least.

Ireland:
1.Richardt Strauss - while I wholeheartedly disagree with the 3 year residency rule, he'll be qualified to play for Ireland in a couple of months time and Declan Kidney would be mad not to cap him under the current laws
2. Ian Madigan - should have been capped in the summer. Still prone to brain farts but his game management is improving and he's being trusted with goal kicking now.
